Summer Vacation

 Hi friends!
Jumpin on to say hello while winding down from our
11 hour 30 minute vacay.
We were tryin to remember the last time we actually went somewhere
on vacation.. and it's blurry... so it's been a few years.
We've kinda turned into homebodies and what's the sayin???
Create a life that you don't need a vacation from..
or something like that.  We may have embraced that to some extreme.
At any rate... I had a dr's appointment in Fort Smith today so Myguy took part of the day
off to go with me.  For us it felt kind of like a vacation.
Leaving Francois was the hard part.
It's sooo hot out now so leaving him in his fenced in yard was out.
And... even if it would't have been; leaving him all alone right now
I don't think I coulda done it.  He's still acting kinda weird.
Better but weird.  So we fixed up a big crate for him and
put his new dogbed and all his toys in it and left him in the house.
Safe and cool.
Then we were off to the big FS, Arkansas.

We had to do my dr appointment first.
Talk about a strange experience.
We were met at the door with a nurse asking
questions and putting wrist bands on me.
Then I was told Myguy couldn't come inside.
Some of my friends have already told me that has been their experiences too
but it was a first for me.  I'll just never forget that look Myguy gave me when I turned
to tell him goodbye and I'd just call him when I was done.  That look of ... but I'm supposed
to protect you... but I don't want to go... but...this is all wrong.  I tried to smile and
let him know I'd be fine... but then you realize... no one can see your smile  under your face covering.  So you smile with your eyes... and mumble it's okay... and nod and have to go through the next door.  Phrewww... in that regard your one-ness quickly gets subtracted but then I remember
what God has joined together no man can really separate.  Even apart... we're  still together you stupid corona virus.  He sat in the jeep for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time coz he wouldn't leave.  I tried to get him to go do something but ... he wouldn't leave.  It was an "I got you" thing.
Finally got all done and just needed labs.
The nurse checked both arms and kept saying you just have the smallest veins!
Alls I could think was just grrrrrrrreat here we go.  Coz usually that means I'm gonna stick you and stick you and stick you some more.  Then when I can't find that I'm gonna dig around a little til you're about to faint.  Then she said.. take a big breath ... I did... felt the tiniest stick and she got it first time!
I coulda hugged her but ... that's probably frowned on... especially these days. ha!
I did thank her like crazy though ... and I may have skipped just a little down the hall.
Then outside I ripped that mask off and gave Myguy a real smile.
happysigh... on to the real vacation...
food... and shopping for our grandgirl's upcoming birthday.
Oh and ... Belle Starr's antiques.
Oh yeah.
You probably saw my new earbobs in the photo at the top?
Yeah baby... they are from there!
I'll share more about them maybe tomorrow... in better daylight!
We had so much fun there...I just love that place!!!!!!
In case someone's wondering... nope; no relation. lol

Shopping for our grandgirl was so much fun too.
She's just about outgrown her boots and I asked her what color she
wants and she said with no hesitation: black!!
Found the last pair in her size too....
Score!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before leavin town... I talked Myguy into going to the liquor store for some vodka.
That sounds funny doesn't it?
We live in a dry county and truth is .. we are dangerously low on vanilla.
I'd already ordered the beans so tomorrow they'll get sliced and sent to their
vodka bath for a few weeks.
Ohhhh aint nothin like homemade vanilla.

Then our last stop was Braums for supper and ... soft serve vanilla frozen yogurt for me
and peanut butter cup ice cream for Myguy.  It's our favorite place.
Now that made it a great vacation right there.

Then home again home again jiggity jig.
Francois survived and I'm so glad to get these to do's
crossed off my list tonight.
It's sure good to be home!

Until we meet again,
<*((((><
