So My Dog's Just FAT

Greetings and Holykisses,

Yesterday, I loaded all three of our Corgis in my truck and hauled them to the vet. They all needed their yearly vaccinations, and our beloved Abe needed a thorough checkup. He just celebrated his 9th birthday and lately hasn't been doing very well. If he gets hot at all, or exerts himself at all he starts to cough up foam. He's on heart worm medicine but a couple doses, were missed doing "on time." Thankfully, his blood test showed no trace of heartworms. Diagnoses: TOO DOGGONE FAT. "Yes Doc, I know he's a little "chunky." "Your dog is not a little chunky, he's TOO FAT.* (sigh)

In times past, when I myself have had to go to the doctor, I've dreaded, worried and starved myself the week before I've went; all because of those dreaded words. "You're overweight." "You need to LOSE a few pounds." It's like a knife in the heart! I hated going to the doctor, all because I dreaded hearing those remarks. And yesterday,............ the scolding was over my DOG! Thank goodness Abe didn't understand. He just kept smiling, happily because thee assistant was busy scratching the good spot that makes his leg thump wildly while he was up on thee exam table. But I... felt horrible. I'm killing my dog with food.
We've told him he's just big boned. You're just a big dog, Abe.. wearing little dogs legs.
But truly, I know it's outta hand. The last time I took him along on my walk, and had to carry him back, I thought I was gonna die. He got over-exerted and kept coughing n throwin up and I seriously thought he was going to have a heart attack. By the time, I managed to haul his carcass up the hill back to the house, I thought I was gonna have one too!

Now I'm measuring his food. He eats behind closed doors- away from his kids Francoise and Addie. Because otherwise, he'll finish his,-- in two seconds flat, and polish off theirs as well. And beg for more! Poor Abe. No one is allowed to say the C word around here annnnnymore.
"cookie"
Other than that, there's nothing new around here. The puddleducks still live at the barn and are quite content playing in puddles.
Hairdoo knows it's "Good to be queen."
This goofy hen keeps jumpin on Olde Lydia and sits there while Lydia eats her grain. I've ran for my camera time and time again but usually when I come back she's jumped off. Finally caught her in thee act.

I know Lydia looks rough. She's OLDE. She's had so many kids and all were sets of twins. She's a registered saanen goat, and is now an old lady! You know how some little old ladies get TINY when they age? That's Lydia! Come to think of it, she really IS old! How long do goats live anyways... she's like a PARROT!*
So my dog's too fat, and my goats too thin, and the chicken... well; she's a riot!

Calla lilies are all in bloom. This morning when I went to the garden, I found this little bee holed up in the center of one. It was completely still, almost as if it had bedded down there for the night. I think you can enlarge the photo. A little callabee.

Well, it's a beautiful sunny-saturday.
I'm turnin this box off and heading to the great outdoors.
Hope you have a beeautiful weekend!

Thankful Thursday ~Simple Pleasures~

Greetings and holykisses!

Counting my blessings, and naming them one by one today!
My thankful FIVE.....

I'm thankful for Flora Bella; my sweet little hen named after Sara's doll at Sweet Magnolia's Farm! Our hens are laying eggs by the bucketfulls. I wasn't always crazy about eating eggs, but lately.... there's just something wonderful about a good ole fried egg; over medium, with lotsa salt n pepper, a slice of buttered toast, and a pile of hashbrowns!
We're so blessed to have chickens running around! Even though they kick all the mulch around and poo on the welcome mat at the kitchen door. I love em! The roosters try to outcrow eachother and chase eachother around the yard. There's nothing like a good ole rooster chorus when they all chime in! They make me smile, laugh and are feeding us very well! Thank you Lord for these goofy chickens, ... our beautiful Flora Bella and my new friend Sara!

I'm thankful for the birds that visit our feeders, sit on this garden gate, and treat us to a melody of beautiful song. I've never appreciated them so much! We have cardinals, mockingbirds, finches, sparrows, bluebirds, indigo buntings, woodpeckers, bluebirds, hummers, and lots of cowbirds! They nest in the honeysuckle, red tip photinias, and even the potting shed! Thank You Lord for your gift of these beautiful little visitors.

I'm thankful for simple pleasures. Seeing beauty in vintage jars, bottles and rusty metal.
I'm thankful for feathers, lace, and tatting. Thank you Lord for brightening my day with
visual delights, and the ones given through FRIENDSHIP!

I'm thankful for flowers! This hydrangea originally came from my friend Jackie's Papaw homestead. A few years ago, I was horse sitting for Jackie. They were gone on vacation, and her hydrangeas were blooming. I picked a big bouquet and brought them home and put them in an olde fruit jar. The green shoots rooted! Not the flower stems, but the greens! So, I planted them and this is the result! I now have a huge hydrangea bush loaded with big fluffy blooms, thanks to my heavenly FATHER. I've been blessed with bouquets every year.
Thank you Lord for your gift of DIVINE splendor, and the miracle found in growth.

Thank you Lord for growing our herd! Yesterday, finding Gertrude had this big baby bullcalf was an incredible blessing. He's a big calf, and she's always such a wonderful Momma cow. We kept her last calf "on her" way too long. He was nearly as big as she and still nursing. So being bred back really pulled her down. We didn't realize she was as far along as she was, and yesterday she had this beautiful, sweet bullcalf.
Thankyou Lord for growing our little herd and giving us a Wednesday surprise!

Thank you Father God for my beautiful family and wonderful friends. Thank you for enriching my life with simple pleasures; with lots of love, peace and joy. I'm so grateful and love ya with all my heart. Forever!!

Alpha and Omega

I'm blessed beyond measure, that my friend asks me to read God's word to her, every time I see her.
"Where do you want me to read," I asked?
"Revelation," she answered.

My fingers flipped pages until the book of Revelation appeared.
"Where in Revelation," I asked?
(silence)
"Read what God says," she said simply.
"But where,... I don't know what you mean," I asked?
"Read what's in RED," she instructed.

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches; and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
UNTO THE angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith He that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
I know thy works and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my names' sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." Revelation 1,2:-8 Jesus Christ

The tree of life
in the midst of the paradise of God.
My friend and I looked into eachother's eyes and
imagined: PARADISE of God.
HE IS... the alpha and omega.
The beginning and thee end.
He who has ears let him hear.

A Blessing A Day.... Challenge

Greetings and Holykisses,

This past week, I was challenged to be a blessing to at least one person every single day. I can't tell you how marvelous this week has been, by simply putting this challenge into practice. Once I started, I found that I didn't want it to stop! It's definitely something I'll be very mindful of from now on to continue every single day. And-- it also gives me more reasons to find myself sitting in this chair more often than I already do. lol

Once I made my commitment to God and asked Him to show me who to bless, I kept finding interesting people in my path and my mind flooding with ideas of things to do. Talk about taking an ordinary day to an extraordinary day!

Here's my Friday Tique n Flea find, all full-a- buttons! Some of you wrote me and thought I should make this "vintage curio" home to both buttons and books, but you've never seen "the buttons." heehee I've been collecting them since the Lord turned my world purple, and then a few months ago, I was blessed by Mike's Auntie, who gave me Grandma C's button collection! If you're wondering how the Lord turned my world purple; you might like to read here!

I cleaned, sorted and rearranged long into the night last night. Addie and Francoise stayed by my side to the finish; although they did sack out on me! After all that dusting and cleaning, I coulda laid down beside em. lol
Least I'll beable to find supplies faster now when I'm working on something!
Speaking of which, think I'll head back out there and find my way back to my little perch.
I'm working on a button card with scripture, transforming a flowerpot from the Salvation Army, and a tag Shabby Phyllis sent!

Have fun being creative if you too are inspired to begin the Blessing A Day Challenge.

Tique n Flea Friday.... Yard Sale Finds

Greetings- Holykisses, and TGIF!

Do you believe the early bird gets the worm?
The last two mornings in a row, I've went to the same yard sale. The lady is cleaning out a building and I'm so happy she did!

She said she once had this curio cabinet in her kitchen and decorated it with her favorite collection of autumn dishes. ~I'm not sure if it's really a curio cabinet... maybe it is, but it looks like a bookcase to me? It was an incredible "deal" and I told her sold! right away. Love that it has glass doors.

While I was still browsing, someone pulled up and asked her about it and she said, "Sorry, already sold." (shewww that was close!) lol -- Anyway, I've already cleaned it all up and will decide this afternoon if it's going to house books, or I'm toying with putting my whole button collection in it, in pretty jars; leaving only the buttons I'll actually use in crafts out in my craft room. Decisions decisions!
Hymnals! Even the titles on the covers are beautiful. Perfect Joy, Cheerful Chimes, Waves of Glory, and Spiritual Life Songs. ~The church we're attending sings hymns rather than contemporary music. Kinda took some getting used to going from very contemporary with a band and modern music... back to olde timey hymns. But, .... My soul often melts singing these beautiful songs that withstand the test of time. Opening one of these books this morning, I found "Beulah Land," had been paper-clipped. It's one of my very favorites!!! -- I have a few other old hymnals that I use making soldered pendants, tags, cards and bottles. So finding these was exciting!
Today, an aqua fruit jar held these buttons! I dumped them into this tin to poke through them and see what was inside. It was only a pint jar, but had some terrific buttons! You can enlarge the picture for a better look. Victorian, black glass with swallows and hearts, orange china stencil, orange pencil-top bakelite, china pie crust button, three gorgeous carved mother of pearl, civil war era bone buttons, and celluloids. There were two other things that caught my eye. Thimbles with paper inside? Someone very deliberately folded up bits of paper and one of them was taped so whatever was inside couldn't fall out. A Message in a thimble? I could hardly wait to open it!
Young Josephine's thimble who died the year I was born.
I didn't take a photo of thee other thimble but it said it was purchased in Gainesville, Texas! My dear Fancy Nancy lives in Gainesville!
Here's my Thrifty finds. So many crafters I know find Bingo cards and I never have; til yesterday! The jewelry was.... well; let's just say I had to refrain from jumping up and down. lol
A "real" cameo... the light colored one; the black one was plastic. I don't think the setting is real but the cameo is definitely shell. Lots of bling. Coro earrings, antique pins, milk glass, lots of pearls; even hand knotted. Most of those will be cut apart and made into something else. The rhinestone pins will decorate bottles and jars. The watch was in it's original box, and there is a whole box of thimbles that will go in the next Lydia jars. The Pink pepper shaker will hold french lavender german glass glitter, and the big pantry jar will hold all this jewelry. You can barely see but there's a pink feather hat on the basket. But the ledger... the ledger is my favorite thing. I can hardly wait for Myguy to have time to sit and look through it. Then, I'll make copies of some of the pages for artwork.
It begins in 1925, and I think went through 1928. This page was one of several cotton crops.
This one eggs. There are lots of haycrops, with the farmer recording "bad hay." He kept record of hired hands, automotive, ... all of it... incredible. The book is so historic and money was not wasted at all. These ledgers are hard to find and when you do, usually they go skyhigh. This one was $2 bucks.
The little book is chockfull of old black n white photos. Really, really olde ones. Then the little stack of black n whites next to it are just a few I found in an old box. I found Chatty Kelly in one. Chatty Kelly, you're not going to believe the photo of you .... it will soon find it's way to you in Virginia! Sweet little lot of vintage relatives.- Found two more watches that are really neat. I don't know if they work or not yet. The oldest, I'm going to make a necklace out of and use the face as the pendant with some beads hanging under it. It won't matter if they work or not.
The rest, ... cute little salt n pepper shakers that I have another idea for, and another jar with old sequins. Boy does it need washed!
This old measurement book cracked me UP! Apparently whoever owned it really stunk at math- like me. They did not want these pages to fall apart. There are many pages that are still usable, and they'll find their way onto tags. Don't you love finding old ephemera. Especially dirt cheap!?

Time to go move the curio cabinet into it's new spot. I'd thought about painting it, but I kinda like the dark wood. So for today, it will stay- as is. The question is ....books, or buttons?

Enjoy your weekend!
As I look into that old booklet of measurements and yellowed tape, a verse springs to mind:
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3

Thankful Thursday in Photo's

Greetings and Holykisses,

Choosing 5 random things I'm thankful for, is both easy and hard at the same time. I'm so blessed, and could write for hours as I count them all. The hard part is sharing only 5.

This Thursday, my random 5 begins with:
~friendship.~ Friends old and new; some- I've never even met in person; yet,.... our paths have crossed with purpose. Bloggy friend Phyllis of Blissitydoodah is one of such blessings. She sent me this awesome bottle and all these fun vintage trinkets and tags to create something new, and it just blew me away. I'm thankful for such a beautiful surprise, but more importantly her friendship. Thankyou Phyllis for your gift of friendship!

I've been here at the Shabby Olde Potting shed for a year now. I noticed the sitemeter says over 17,058 visits have now been made to the shed since created on May 29th, 2008. That's alot of new friends, from countries all over the world. Yall have showered me with love, encouragement, and shared in my journey. Many of you have prayed for me, and I humbly thank you with all my heart.

Every time you leave comments, emails and sign my guestbook I nearly do a cartwheel. I just love getting to "see your beautiful faces" every single day on the slide!
Yall are my blessings; which means counting you ALL, we've already slightly went over our random 5. heehee I'm blowing you all smoochy holykisses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love yall!
My next random blessing: Having a spot to just sit, and be still. Watching "On Dragonfly Pond," makes me happy!

Next random Blessing: A place to worship. How many times have I been "too tired," to go to church? How many times do I find excuse to "not go." How many times have I complained? Yet; I know, it's a great privilege to assemble together!
Another random Blessing: Art, crafts, creativity. I'm so happy when I'm making "something, --anything!"
Cutting, gluing, stamping, soldering, painting, sewing, card-making.... it all tickles my fancy!
Random Blessing: This clothesline. I'm addicted to fresh sheets. Love stiff bluejeans, and towels. Love carrying them to the line, love taking my time pinning them up, and anticipate taking them down. Fresh, clean- country air with the sweet smell of wild honeysuckle. Mmmm!
Random Blessing. I know I've gone way over. I can't help myself. But on the 28th, Abraham will turn 9 years old. My olde, faithful, beloved friend. Where I go, he goes; especially in my truck. (In the cab of course.) He slobbers on my seats, and goobers up my windows. But he is so worth it! My shadow, my friend ... who has me wrapped around his little paw.

Guess I better stop. I'm blessed, and thankful for these sweet gifts and so many more.
Thank you Father God. I know:
Every good and perfect gift comes from above. James 1: 17

Word Filled Wednesday ~In Christ~

Greetings and Holykisses,

Yesterday our Sputnik caterpillar hatched!
I found this huge green caterpillar last summer and brought him indoors. His home became a jar filled with grass and leaves from our yard. He seemed to like lilac leaves the best. He ate alot! Before we knew it, he spun into a cocoon.

I researched caterpillars to learn a little bit about them. Don't remember what kind he even is right now; that was a long time ago! He sat on our cupboard for weeks. Finally, as the weather started to get cooler, I put his jar in an unzippered bag and put him in the vegetable bin in our refrigerator. Yep; you read correctly; right next to the carrots and apples all winter long.

Over a month ago; maybe two, I took him out and set him back on the cupboard. This past week, I began wondering if something went wrong and he may have died. I seriously considered "cleaning out" the jar.* So glad I didn't because walking past the jar yesterday I noticed a strange color out the corner of my eye. Sputnik was transformed! His wings were so big, that I was afraid he'd hurt himself, so then I had to empty my gigantic yarn jar and make him a temporary home in it, til he got more used to his gigantic new wings. ~ Later this afternoon, he was set freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I can't tell you how incredible it was!
God's just awesome yall!
God is SOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~Getting PluGGed iN!~ Finding Grace

Good MORNINglory,
and smOOchy holykisses!

Last night, was our final night of the revival. Too bad, because i'm just not ready for it to be over. i'm asking God to keep it burning in my new heart. Yall know, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us! God's more than heard me, and He answered, using things i understand within my extra-ordinary little life.

Remember the Contessa Urina Mariah? If you've never met her before, she's the keeper of the potting shed. On special days, she loves to dress up in her apron and feather boa to dance in corn rows, and attend Sisterchick tea parties. She's a humble garden girl who does what she can, Inspite of her circumstance that she doesn't even have a head: she still wears hats!* -- I'm looking at her differently today. Who knew that this morning, i'd look to her and find a portion of grace???

Several of you asked about the revival. Each night, i walked away having learned something to apply to this little life of mine. ~ Some of you don't know but this is the church we first attended and there; got serious about dedicating our lives to God. Then as years went on, our boys turned to teenagers and started visiting a different church with friends and it had an incredible youth group. They loved it. Our youngest began playing guitar in the praise and worship band. So we ended up going as well.
Then as they grew up and graduated.... things began changing again. We prayed long and hard, knowing something was stirring us elsewhere. We just didn't know where? We stayed close to God, but still walked in the wilderness. Now here are we right back where we started. A full circle. All except the pastors who led years ago, are no longer there. We loved them very much, but we love the new ones too!!! ~So it's all good! And the people... have been sooooo welcoming, you cannot even imagine it. Love? Oh yeah!!!!
~MUCHLOVE~

We've not rejoined yet; that will be up to Myguy. That will be his decision... he's the priest of the home and he already knows i'm happy there. Even if he didn't want to go there, and would choose somewhere else; i'd follow. But he seems content as i. Thing is, because of his work schedule, i do alot of church things alone. He goes Sunday mornings, but that's it. His schedule is very hectic. I'm thankful he loves the Lord and makes time for God every Sunday morning, -- This week; he made it to one evening service at the revival, the rest i was by myself.

At the revival, the pastor said to "bloom where you're planted." An Old cliche' that held
great meaning for me.
i've really missed having a place to belong. Walking the wilderness is tiring. i know; going to thee other churches taught us things we'd have not learned any other way. For that i'm grateful. And in the dry times, staying rooted in the word, kept me planted in Jesus Christ; even if we didn't have a church home.
The Lord reminded me of the morning glorys today. Ever heard of perennials that reseed themselves? Well, once upon a time, i sowed morning glorys. See all the little "new hearts,"
in the garden? These came up on their own. Look close: tiny little "new hearts"
springing up all over the place. They reseed
every spring. i have a love-hate relationship with them now. They
spring up everywhere , and go crazy. They climb everything and grow to the top of the potting shed. To bad i'm not a little more like them. They not only bloom where they were planted, they reseed themselves; weather any storm and continue to bear fruit and color the world they live in.
"Behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Rev 3:20

This verse was spoken the last day of revival and i keep seeing the door knocker on the shed when i hear it. This morning glory grew around the door knocker and bloomed right there. i know God's knocking, and i hear Him. Time to start blooming right where He finds me.

Before i left last night, the pastor's wife asked me what size tshirt i wear? You see, awhile back i offered to help the lady in arts n crafts with VBS. i was really excited because that stuff is kinda my thing ya know? Later, the pastor's wife told me that they actually have alot of help already in arts n crafts but she was concerned for some of thee other areas that they didn't have enough help in. I told her whatever she wants me to do, I'll do. That I'll just show up, and they can just point me in whatever direction is needed. Deep down, i was kinda disappointed because I know arts n crafts is one of my gifts and I was looking forward to helping out in that department. But God kinda took me by the shoulders and said, "WHO are you wanting to serve?" "Me, or you?" -- sorry Lord! I was wanting to serve Lea again, but I really want it "your" way!!! If they ask me to wash dishes I'll happily wash dishes with suds up to my elbows! I'll dry, put away, sweep the floor and take out the trash! I'm your girl Lord, and I'll be wearing my "large" vbs tshirt with a smile!

Like the morning glories; i'm reseeded, revived, and once again plugged in.
Hopefully, i'll start bloomin
right where i'm planted.

~His Banner Over Me is Love~

Greetings and Holykisses!

Is this photo a blast from the past or what?!!!
MYADHD, of Monkeys Are Funny, surprised me this week by mailing a box of my absolute favorite childhood sweets!!!!!!!!! I beebopped down the driveway to my mailbox and upon opening it, this surprise- box was just waiting in there! I hadn't ordered anything....? Then I saw thee cutest little red firetruck on the return label...... my very favorite firefighter on the planet sent me a package!????????????

Every Tuesday, at Monkeys Are Funny, Mary has a "special guest." It's always alot of fun to see who she brings back from our past! One Tuesday, I stopped by and Donny and Marie were there. I commented and I can't remember what I said but it was something to do with the fact that I used to love them I think and it brought back my chicko sticks and moonpie days.
It musta stuck in her head because thee other day she said she was standing in the candy isle and before her eyes were my favorite childhood treats. She bought them for me, and sent them all the way from VIRGINIA! How did i get so blessed? Thank you Mary with all my heart!!!!!! And please, if you haven't been by her blog go say hi! Tomorrow after church, ... that moonpie is soooo gonna be history! heehee ( I can hardly wait!) I've made a strategy to eat the chickosticks strrrrretching them out to savor them awhile!!! YeehaaaAAAA!
Then at the revival last night, my dear friend Maxi walks in bearing more gifts! She knows I love chocolate and gardening, so she blessed me with this chocolate mint herb! I had to show it to yall in case you want to make this up for a gift as well. It's soooo cute! She stuck the miniature hersheys in there like it's already bearing fruit! lololol I love it. If you rub the leaves, then smell.... mmmmmm it really does smell just like chocolate! Fat free too; which I need after eating all Mary's candy! lol

Speaking of the revival, we are on night 3.
We've been hearing about Noah, and how awful and evil the times were... that it saddened God so much that He decided to cause the great flood. Everyone but Noah and his family would be killed. Only Noah was blameless and found favor with the Lord. Why?... well the Word says that he did everything God commanded him.* That really hit home last night. That and the fact that Noah built thee ark as God told him, and it had never ever rained before. Now that's faith. Inspite of sarcasm from others, ....who thought he was nuts... a fruitloop... It took him 120 years to build thee ark and he lived on rainless ground, far away from thee ocean. He'd never seen rain! Talk about having faith, and a love for God! --- It re-affirmed to me; that in this day... when people look at me and think I'm nuts... a fruitloop because of my faith in Jesus Christ.... I'm gonna keep doing what He says, no matter what.
Speaking of rain, it's still been raining off and on here. I just walked out and took this picture of the puddleducks doing what they do best: puddleplay. Is "hairdoo" not a looker? I keep telling her it's her crown; to wear it proudly, and never mind when all thee other ducklings laugh and call her names.
This morning, I got a chance to hit a Thrift and Flea. Had a ball and found some fun things inexpensively. This plate squealed "Take me home!" Click on it and take a stroll through the park and stop and pet the horse pulling the flower cart! The back says California Poppy Trails. (Janie from Dixon will want to move into one of the Victorian houses!)
Been hunting bottles to alter for gifts and found a beautiful lot! The antique shaker will be filled with German glass glitter and the patterns cut for altered projects. Those were only .10 each. You can barely see them but two glass prisms are in front of the bottles. Somehow they'll be made into bottle stoppers. If any of you solder bottle tops, please write me!
This is a bottle I made for Phyllis of Blissitydoodah! She loves altered bottles too and this one went to live with her. I used a vintage hymnal to decoupage to the front and tied on a vintage cabinet key, and pinned some antique mother of pearl buttons to the tea stained cheesecloth.
Found the words "pearly" and "flower" and decoupaged those to the bottle neck, and then made a FLOWER out of a mother of pearl FLOWER button. You take a flower stemwire, and loop one end around the shank of the button and twist it, then use floral tape and go around all the wire, and add a couple velvet stems. Walaaa . The inside of the bottle was filled with micca flakes and vintage pearls... it's the kind of potting soil "pearlybuttons" prefer. Pearly buttons grow wild around the potting shed, and bloom by the light of the moon. -- I hope it's still blOOming for Miss Phyllis. heehee

Yesterday, we had some SUN! Could hardly wait to strip the bed and hang the sheets on the clothesline. Crawling into it last night was sheer heaven! Even Myguy noticed! There's just something about crisp sheets dried in the SONshine!!!

I'm off to start washing bottles and play in the craftroom for a little while before the revival. I can hardly wait for it to start!!!!!!!!!
~His banner over us is LOVE!~

"He has taken me to the banquet hall, and His banner over me is love." Song of Solomon 2:4
(my 10th Scripture challenge verse)

"
