The One That Almost Got Away...

 Hi friends,
It started with an early morning text.
 mornin mom.
if you're up and around i was gonna come over for a bit.
that ok?
What a great way to start the day huh? !!!  Heck yeah!
Kinda had a hunch it was because of mother's day, because
our guys all had a big job that took all weekend so there was
no usual bbq like we often do.

I ran to get dressed and put on fishin clothes coz
again... had a hunch.  ;)
Here he comes... bearing gifts and
dressed to fish.   (i love that boy)
I had recently told him that when I was a kid, I used a canepole alot.
We had a cabin on a lake and I fished so much back then.
So here he comes in the door totin  a new pink fishing rod and all these goodies..
plus a cane pole and nightcrawlers.!!  ha!
When we got to the pond he even set me up.
Put new line on the canepole and everything.
He knows I write and document so I don't think he even thought it was
weird when  I was taking photos of his hands.
I love those hands!
It was no time at all and that beautiful canepole
was catchin fish!
squeeeeal!

About those "moments" I shared about yesterday???... this  moment is me  feelin
8 years old again.

Then funny story.....
So I go back to  my honeyhole and dropped my line right?
In abit my bobber was GONE.  I had a monster!
The thing broke my line .... about the full length that I had
... bobber and all.    Mike and Trent saw it happen and were like... good gosh...
that thing had to be huge!  Well.... we all fished for awhile... and were all
catching fish.  It was a whole lotta fun.
Trent goes around the pond abit and guess what?
He sees my bobber ... the line that the fish had just broke... and it's going all over with the fish still on it!
We probably all watched it for a good half hour ... it'd go under and disappear...
later come up over yonder.  So Trent gets the idea he is catchin that fish!!!!!
He had a big dragonfly lure on his rod so he sets his mind that he "is"
gonna get ahold of my line and see what was on it.
About the time he'd cast toward it... it would all disappear.
The bobber would go under... and vanish.

I told him, "Son if you get my new  bobber back, I will bake  you a whole batch of
chocolate chip cookies."  lolol
 By golly he got him!
This is "our" double dipped catfish!
 The thing was huge!
Still can't believe he managed to snag my line.
We fished all morning long.
It was a blast!
As I sat on the porch this afternoon finishing my bible study and
catching up on my books I pulled that bobber out of my pocket and wrote the date on it.
I'm hanging this baby in my little art studio to remember this fishtale.
I gotta run,... there's cookies to bake!!!
Until we meet again,
L

Where The Good Way Is ... and Scripture Picture

This was today's calm after last night's weather alert day.
It's always scarier when  the tornado sirens  go off after dark isn't it?  That
was the case once again last night.
Thankfully we had no damage other than one  big dead tree that took out a  fence.
I discovered it while on this walk and got the donkeys caught before they ventured into
the neighbors 80 acres.
Winding around the thicket I met up with this young fella.
Loggerhead snappers   are thee most unnnnnnnnfriendly creatures aren't they?
I hadn't seen one in awhile...
We parted ways and both lived to tell the tale.

I found myself stopping here and there and
just marveling at all the bright colors.

The woods are now perfumed with wild roses.
You can see some here climbing the trees along my path.
I'm not exaggerating by saying the air is completely
wafting with roses.

But the Sonlight in the woods was my favorite thing today.
Streaming through the treetops and glistening through the creek... it
was  aLL ... Glory with a capital G.

The world is a crazy place right now...
we're all feelin it I'm sure.  But...
my walk today ... helped.
This evening Myguy patched the fence and when I walked back up to the house,
I happened on this.  I never noticed it earlier today and I was right through there.
Could be it was meant for right now.

I sign off tonight with a scripture picture  made using Jeremiah 6:16.
It's my  mentor Cora's favorite verse.   She is now in heaven and as I walked
today I once again thought about it  as I often do when I come to the crossroads of my
walking trails.
How many times I remember her saying, "Lea... ask for the ancient paths
where the good way is... and girl ... you walk in it!

Until we meet again...
