Creating A Sacred Space... At The Shabby Olde Potting Shed

 Hi friends!
I've been literally melting in the greenhouse.
It's a scorcher in there but I thought yall might like to see how I made room for
this prayer kneeler.  I referred to it the other day as an altar and I'm not sure if that's what it's actually called.  At any rate... it went into the greenhouse.

I vacuumed the whole thing out yesterday and it was a wreck.
Got all those weeds that grew up in all the paver cracks out.  Didn't see any critters; not even a tree frog.  (You just never know around here.)  Once the bench was inside... all I could see around it was the dirty windows... so got to scrubbin on those.

Then I hung this cross on a nail.  A special friend gave it to me a few years back.
Don't mind the dirty roof above it.  Myguy actually cut back a whole bunch of wisteria up there.
Hopefully the next rains will wash the roof.  .  There were so many wisteria blossoms on the roof this year and the vines were shading this space too much.  Anyways... next...
I found the chalkboard and wrote this on it.
Usually we say hallelujah but reading the Catholic bible and listening to masses they say it like this.
It's  a beautiful word isn't it?  It was written with all my heart.
Then I started setting some little flowerpots  around.
Just got these a couple days ago.  I love the dainty blue flowers.
Then I hung this leaded glass cross as well.
Then I scrubbed this.  Does anyone know anything about this print?
I have searched and cannot find anything... nor did I see another like it.
Got my little birdcage straightened  and  it's
hanging near my scripture to focus on.

And  here is my little prayer kneeler ... with a few flowers here and there.
It fits just right  and
gives me space to pause and just be with the Lord.
I love the cross in the center of it's wood.
I also cleaned some bottles and added some fleurs and berries.
Here is the little potters table in there just in case you wanted to see the whole room.
The rabbit belonged to my Momma so is very special to me.
And I got the other table all cleaned up.  I have quite a few things that need
potted.
And I grabbed this pack of basil last trip to town.
The verse on top is a favorite.
I had to share this side of the table in my little work area.
See the long viney plant?  That is my beloved creeping charlie.
I love these plants so much and they wintered over for me!
If you've never tried it ... see if your greenhouse has it.
Don't think you'll be disappointed.  It grows really well and the leaves are lovely.

I had to share Sir Wisdom in this post.
After reading Ecclesiastes... I'm renaming him Sir Wisdom Solomon.
Putting things inside the other part of the potting shed, I discovered this!
I had forgotten that I had this "thy prayer closet sign."
I made it a long time ago and it will probably come into this space too.
It's been leaning against that window over there for so long ... and I'm
so happy to have found it again.
So I still have to find a good place for it.
I also found this in there.  I need to make a hanger for it somehow.
Probably out of wire and beads.  So that will be another little project.
I'd like to hang it on a nail and put a battery operated candle in it for night time.
So that is it.... my sacred little place to be.
Early mornings and evenings are the coolest so I look forward to
spending time there.  I've already broke it in pretty good.

It's about to storm here now.
Thundering quite a bit.  When it stops I'm going to tackle this....

This zebrina patch has something wrong with it.  Plus the typewriter is behind it somewhere. lol
I'm cutting it to the ground and burning the tops.  I don't know why it did this.
It will likely grow back from the root... but we'll see.
Well thanks for visiting the olde shed today.
Until we meet again,
<*(((><

Beauty For Ashes and Word Clouds

The Wind can sure wreak havoc and it did just that to this door
on our greenhouse this week.

When I went to water plants, on the windy day,  this was what I found.
I guess a gust  caught the door and whipped it right into  shards.

What a mess and I'm still sad.
It was  quite a labor of love from Myguy.
I took the photos to text to him at work when I found the door broken and then started
cleaning up all the glass.
Here are the salvaged panes stacked on my desk.
See the irony?

After cleaning up all the glass, I carried the  broken
wooden  pieces to the burn pile.
While there; look what I found.

A charred bird and bracelet.
Not long ago, a friend sent a gift to me.
The package looked like something you could mail a poster in?
It resembled a tinfoil type box.
Inside, was the most beautiful Cavallini art paper and a beautiful card.
When I wrote her and thanked her she replied back and asked
what about the other things I sent you?
Other things?  There was the paper and the card in the package.
I didn't see anything else.  She was positive she put other things  in there.   I really figured  it must have gotten mixed up
in her wrapping paper stuff or something and it never got sent?
That she'd come across it in her house?
Then she asked if I could go get the box.
The box?
The box was  already gone.
I'd already thrown the box away.
:(
She was sick about it and I ...felt ....terrrrrrrrrible.
Anyways, long story short .... the bird up above and the bracelet are from my friend!
Some of our trash gets burned if it's burnable  and the rest we put in the dumpster.
You know; even if I would have ever dreamed I could find the things she said she'd mailed,
I would never have dreamed these two things would be salvageable but look...
A bracelet that says Let your light shine
and this beautiful little bird.
I took the photos as I was cleaning it all up and sent them to her.
She was delighted and  told me that the bird was all white when
she mailed it.  That sounds beautiful but really,

I just don't think this could be any more beautiful.
I love it soooooooooo much.
I'm wearing the bracelet too.
It too is a unique color but they have even more story
now and God spoke straight to my heart through them.
No surprise that her word for the year is restoration.
Mine is  illuminated.
Chicken skin is what we both got from all this.
Those are her words for goosebumps.
Now more about words-

This afternoon I made a word cloud from your
one little words that yall have shared with me.
If anyone else wants to share  theirs, I'd love to see this cloud grow.

Then I made this one too.
I used an app on my phone called Tag Cloud.
It was really fun but the more I fiddled with it, then it started making the words all bigger and
when I saved the picture;  the words were running outside the square which wouldn't work.
Thankfully I saved these two photos before it started messing up.  I couldn't find anywhere on the app
to adjust the size of the font.  Maybe I missed something?  I'll play around with it again another day.
The picture started out black and white but I added light to it in editing.
Feel free to use and share them.

Alright, gotta run.
Addie is in my spot next to Myguy on the couch.
Til we meet again,

A Few Things I Saw Yesterday

-- a good word in Hebrews...
and also my Lent study.

I saw the date on my phone reminding me ,, exactly 8 years earlier
was the very last time  I got to  hear  Momma
say she loved me... give me a kiss and just a few
short hours later;
I watched her go see Jesus.

I saw Trent; my techy geek son come and fix the printer
in a matter of  nanoseconds.

I saw snow on the Chevy,
and icicles hang from our shabby olde farmhouse.
I saw coffee steam in a greenhouse,
and birds shuck sunflower seeds on a rusty cart.

I saw Miss Priss lay...
this cute little egg that will be whisked with two more
into  cuppycakes this afternoon.
I saw tracks everywhere,
corgis, aussie, birds, bunny and deer.
I saw tulips shiver and

spent morning glories wave
in Winter's breeze.
I saw this guy at the door holding a bag
of Taco Bell at lunch.
I saw birds wearing red jackets.
(for  Jeanie)
I saw opportunity to share
what we have.
I saw this bell ringer chase an Alpha
right off the couch.
And I saw this girl blend in like a
chameleon.

I'm thankful today for so many beautiful moments
that make  ordinary days
-extraordinary.

An Afternoon Stroll....Picture Story

 It's a beautiful Autumn day!
Let's go for a little walk....
First stop.. a shabby olde potting shed.
We need to fill all the bird feeders.
Sparrows and little wrens love their black sunflower seeds!

.... now to tidy up abit.
and write the verse of the day.
 Hello Owl.
 Hello Butterfly...
It looks like the bottle tree's  leaning a little to the left?
The antique lavender glass does seem to be turning a deeper purple color.
-- thankyou  Sunshine!
The Debra-dear tree is now settled in!
Thank you Debra dear!
.... Get your fennel-fix Mr. Caterpiller.
You'll need your strength for a long winter's transformation.
The birds have almost wiped out all the sunflowers now.
This one had a red wing black bird on it when we walked up.
Did you happen to see it?
Here's one of the baby grasses.
She's finally all happy and
growing again.
Okay, let's head to the barn now....
Francois and Addiedoodle beat us there.
Say Cheese!
You're such good little friends.
Did you hear "Surprise?"
I know it's a funny name, but he was thee extra
surprise chick in the last batch we bought.
He has quite a crow doesn't he?
 You gotta watch Lucille.
She tries to sneak out the door if you open it too wide.

Alright let's go to the woods....
We don't have orange vests on...
But there's  No Hunting here.
Let's make  some noise while we walk anyways...

 Well look who's down here.
Hello Spirit.

 Hey Bleu!
I think I see Gracie off behind him grazing in the meadow grass.
How are you today Miss Violet?

... Looks like something has been rubbing on this little tree.
We better keep our eyes open!
You never know???

Everyone's saying the persimmon seeds are full of spoons this year.
Spoons as in:  gonna have to dig out this Winter!
... Wouldn't that be nice?
 Guess we should head back...
 We'll go further another day....
... Well there's my handsome fella.
He's hitching up the olde scrap trailer.

I don't think he knows I'm taking his picture...
(But I love him)
 .... Let's keep goin.
See ya chickies....
 Hang on a second,
I wanna grab  that cool messed up feather.
I love it!
haha
Time to get some supper started....
Gotta put a big pot of frito chili pie on.

 I had a wonderful walk!
Thanks for coming along...
xoxo
