Saturday JOYS n Gratitude....

Hello from
our front porch.
It is a beautiful, chilly
Saturday afternoon!

A few joys n gratitudes...

*watched the Chosen's Christmas special with Myguy last night...
So many goosebumps through it....
imagining Mary giving birth ... a virgin
no hospital, no female nurses... Joseph delivering Jesus-
nothing for pain when things get rough-
my tears... Myguy squeezing my hand as we watched together..
remembering how it was for us ...
Imagining what it was really like for them.
So much gratitude ....

amazing music-
children singing with all their hearts
JOY to the world

lots of snow texts ...
I got snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

the  crackling fire Myguy
made me last night..
At least we didn't have to turn on the air conditioner

the very last blackeyed susies
so beautiful....

fresh mistletoe
and some smoochin

gifting of gorgeous nativity stamps
from my sweet Scottish Lassie...

they're all so beautiful....tiny treasures
she's a treasure too

plans for a weekend to play

Having Trent here for the day helping work on the rearend
of Mike's race truck.

the rare gift of a Dad getting to work
every day with his sons- and
they all still get along and love eachother  :)

seeing his happiness
and some free time to do
things he enJOYS

that he was able to buy his truck back
after he once sold it to a neighbor and regretted it.

that I got to ride in it with him once down the dragstrip
at Centerville speedway...
I'd never felt NOS before....

that goofy grin they always get...
like little boys with new toys

me asking "Is that all rubber on your fender and inside your fenderwells?"
them:  F U NNNNNNNNN
:)

Pentatonix Christmas playing from the shop radio... on repeat!!

Having Trento for lunch... left over pizza casserole.... just the three of us.
Holding hands around the table to give thanks for our food and
for him today.
Making a pan of scotcheroos special for the occasion ....
The same pan my Momma  used to make scotcheroos in for me.

Finding some JOY all over the place... messages from a friend,
cards, lights, signs, heck even
 my own shirt.

'

I took more photos ... but you get the idea.
JOY ....
It sure got my attention and helped me get out of the
warm weather mullygrubs.

In our advent art journaling,
a recent prompt was to add a Christmas scent to our pages...
I have this neuropathy oil I use on my soles..
it made my book smell amazing.
I did this page a few days ago and it still smells
like frankincense and myrrh in my little art porch.

Lastly... this homemade rubber stamp is documented here.
Anyone laughing yet?  It's okay... I can take it.
OMG ... I even laughed at myself when I realized what I'd done.
I carved this to use in my advent book.
DING DONG.... yep no one was home I guess...
Yeah try reading that one backwards. haha  I decided to keep it anyways for now.
Beloved will  be my new one little word for 2022.
I had thought it would be simplicity ... like the box my Auntie gave me.
Or simple... or simply... but not this time.
If you choose a word to hang your hat on for the year... I'd love to hear.

JOYfully yours,
<*))))><
