--Glancing out back I saw this...
Not sure what it was, I went back in for binoculars.
The small cedar in the middle of the photo is a tree on
the backside of the big pond.
Perched ontop is the crane or heron who visits.
Still for the life of me do I know it's proper name.
If you do... please enlighten me.
Does it have an S neck or not? That's the million dollar question.
At any rate it cracks me up. This bird is huge.
On this day it was like a star on a Christmas tree.
--The mornings are getting plumb chilly at times.
Upper 30's ... but
inside the greenhouse it's so nice.
Late afternoons I like to linger inside.
--Watering is never a chore.
it's pure joy inside the warmth of a greenhouse.
--My angel Mama's burning bush plant is really
gussied up in her red dress n berries these days.
Mama would love that I stopped to admire it today.
--I plucked golden leaves from her maple tree
to press in a book too.
Someday my kids will find a dried forest and gardens in all my heavy books.
-Walking around the pond I spotted my shadow.
Ohmy... Look at those long legs.
I could hardly believe it was really me!
--The leaves are getting so thick and I trudge carefully.
Tall boots or not they wouldn't do well stepping on a fat copperhead.
I love to hear the crunching of crispy leaves though.
--I'm counting gifts with a friend and
this God glimmer was soooo beautiful.
Like diamonds sparkling across the water.
--Our old farmhouse is getting some love.
The front porch was cut off and the roofer got so much done
in just a day.
Soon we'll have a roof that all matches and
hopefully doesn't leak.
I figured I'd have to pick up all the shingles this weekend, but........
today they brought a trailer and cleaned them all up!
Nearly brought tears to my eyes I was so happy bout that.
--Trent stopped by the other night to talk meatloaf.
He often calls or texts wanting to know
Mama how do you make your __________?
It always makes me giddyhappy.
Well...
This is what he did with our pizza casserole recipe.
My ole friend Susie taught me how to make this recipe while we were still teenagers.
but we both make it in a 9x13 pan. WELL..
Trent revised it to look like this.
Calzone style.
That's my boy.
--Walking back from the mailbox yesterday;
tumor dog was walking home right down the road.
(That's what I call her Tumor Dog.)
She belongs to a neighbor and has this huge
mass hanging under her and it almost touches the ground.
Breaks my heart really and
I keep hoping that maybe the reason they don't do something for her
is maybe it has too big a blood supply to it or something? I dunno but
she looks so old. Her face is grayed and she has the sweetest eyes.
Wish I could pet and love on her but
--this lil fella and I are getting pretty chummy.
I've dusted him in diatomaceous earth and he's
really cleaning up pretty good.
When I wear this baggy red hoodie he puts his lil
head in the folds and tries to snuggle up...
it's completely adorable.
I know.. I know.. I may be losin it.
If you weren't sure before this may
be the thing that secures your opinion of me: ---but
I think I could almost pet
one of these possums now. The older one on the right has gotten so friendly I can
walk out on the porch at night and it'll stay on the table
while I give it more catfood. The way it smacks it's food... heartemoji
Even Myguy agrees ... well... he thinks it's sorta, kinda, almost,
cute. That's probably as close I'm gonna get with him.
Ohhh and before I sign off I have one lil funny to share:
A little while ago; I heard one of the guys working out here
Baaaaaa- ing back at one of my goats.
haha!
It was so dang funny.
Ok; ......Until we meet again,
<*)))><
