Monday Monday... another new project

Monday Monday  and already on a second pot of coffee
and it's not even noon yet.

Finally finished writing out a little bucket list of things I'd like to do this month
and new goals too.  This is one of them.  A little thing really- memorizing scripture but
it's something that will keep and last ... once it's written on the tablet of this heart.
Memorizing is not something that comes easy to me unless it's a song.
But when I think of the verses that I do know by heart... I'm so glad I have them
inside and that I can pull them out anytime time I want or need to.
This one is from my Daniel study.

When I look back on the things I  make important in life... so much of it doesn't mean a hill of beans really but this... does and always will.
I will to make
the effort.

Over the weekend we started another new project.
Remodeling the room that used to be  our oldest son's bedroom.  After he moved out it became our computer/dogroom.
It's been like storage shed and held two crates for our corgis.  Anyways, it has not been redone in decades.  I cleared most of it out and last night we started filling holes in the walls.
If you raised teenage boys or maybe you were once a teenage boy... you might understand what I mean by that.  Omg.  We always
had extra boys here.  Because I was mostly at home ... we encouraged them to all hang out here ... where I could better keep an eye on them.  (they have no idea how wild their folks once were.. ) We knew what kinda trouble they could get in.
Anyways... it was a zoo in this  house back in the day.  One son played drums... the other electric guitar... add more teenage boys... equals holes in the walls.
Teenage boys are always putting someone in a headlock. Laughin, hollerin,... you get the picture.
Tempers would flare.  And on occasion... sheetrock crumbled.
There are two holes I'm lookin at right now that Myguy started patching last night and I just
shake my head coz I can't imagine how he's really gonna fill them.
There was also this big plastic bolt that has been stuck in the wall for decades.  I think it came
in a box of legos or erector set I dunno but it was part of some toy.  One kid just stuck it in the wall.
a bolt.  It's huge.  What are they thinking?  We haven't redone the other son's hole in his wall either yet.  Tony once thought it was a great idea to cut a hole in his wall that fit a car stereo and he put a battery in his closet  to run it.  I'm serious.  It has a huge picture hanging over the hole right now.
I write all this for them one day to maybe read and I shall stop and say, "Son's you sure kept life interesting.  And I wouldn't trade any of it for anything!
But back to remodeling...
I'm ready to tackle this room.  It won't be perfect... by a long shot but today starts a facelift.
The paint is the same sterling white as our bedroom.  I really love that shade and Myguy picked out the color of the desk so I think we need really bright walls to go with it. I think the photo above is the right desk.  I'd screenshot it on my phone from the wayfair website.    We took all the trim off and
outlet/switch covers.  I did put one back on last night though.  Omg.. without thinking I was walking down the hallway and just reached in to turn this light off.  I felt my fingers go inside the lightswitch box.  Bout made me sick to my stomach when I realized I coulda just  fried myself.  I grabbed the butterknife and put the cover back on until I actually paint around it.
Once again, God protected me. (whispering thank you again)

Alrighty, here we go... I need to crank up the tunes and get to rollin paint.
Myguy is going to try to come home early.  There is a place we love up in the mountains
not far from here that we want to go sit on a bluff and watch the sun go down.
Every time we drive up there ... there's always a vehicle parked there  and so we don't stop.
Probably other couples with the same idea.  Hopefully tonight it will be ours.
It's beautiful... and we've never seen the sun set there.
Yall have a wonderful Monday!
Until we meet again
<*)))><
