Nesting At Home

Hello friends,
and Hello September!
It felt so good starting a brand new month!
A new fresh start,
full of possibilities!
  I'm so anxious for Fall.
I'm trying to not run off Summer because I know every day is a gift... but Autumn is definitely
my favorite season of the year.
It gets so hot here and I can't wait to walk the woods again.

We've had a ton of rain...
but when the sun comes out for abit, the baby goats
love to play.  They can jump up on the big wooden spools now
and they love to run and skip.
This little one has the cutest leap.
They make us laugh and have all gotten a sweet tooth now
for grain.  I'm really getting attached.

When I walked to the shed yesterday, this beautiful blue marble was partly uncovered.
The rain had brought it to the surface and ... it's in my pocket right now.
You have no idea the lump I get when I still come across evidence that
two little boys once played hard on this farmstead.
One of the toy capguns that little Annie Oakley here is wearing is
a toy I found down by our creek just a year or so ago.  Trent and Tony played all through those woods
when they were little, wild rascals.  The other two pistols; I came upon
cleaning out my cedar chest recently. I smile every time I see them.
I
With all the rain, and September now here,
I've started changing things up and been in the mood to
decorate for Autumn.
I painted this little table last night.
It used to be turquoise and I am so turquoised out.
Have any of you been in a nesting mood too?
Me and Emily sat here last night dreaming.
I hadn't written in her in awhile.
We made lists of things to tackle for Fall cleaning and
the next projects to start.  We made menus, have a vision board started,
and a plan how to get from point a to point b.
Yesterday I painted our pantry jar lids this rusty color.
They'd been red for a long time.
Funny how a can of spray paint can just get your juices flowing and
spur you into the next thing.
This will be the next thing.
So long turquoise ... we sure had fun for awhile.

I sign off with a scripture picture using a portion of an  envelope
I painted for happy mail.  I've always loved Titus 2 and  love
being a keeper of home!
I hope yall have a beautiful day!
Until we meet again,
<*)))><

Good day Lea, it is hard to believe it is September already after such a horrid year and months of isolating and restrictions on our day to day lives.

I can understand why you would enjoy the Autumn season, when you told me how hot it is there I would find it quite exhausting too. It is sunny here today and very breezy coming from the sea. I haven't been nesting yet although there is a difference in the evenings already, when the sun goes down it is quite cool.

The goatlings must be so cute now and fun to watch skipping about. I can imagine you would find it emotional coming across toys played with by the boys. Really special.

I like your little table and the jars. It is fun dreaming up new ideas and colours isn't it. Thank you for sharing.

Blessings <*)))><

Lea such a happy post. I love the fact that you found the marble as well as the guns. Your home looks like the perfect "nest". So glad you invited me in to visit. Fall is the best season. It is as if God pours out all the stops of beauty for this time of the year. Nothing like that perfect blue sky as a backdrops for the gorgeous colors that paint the hills. Hope you have a very fine weekend. Hugs!
