National Dog Day....

So many of my friends have shared a photo of their
dog today in celebration.
It is national dog day; and this ole boy has my heart.
Just awhile ago I was holding him on my lap and felt another weird mass
thing on his undercarriage.  It was just a few months ago the vet
cut that one big thing off his belly.  :(

Well... all this painting has been going great til today.
I started the cedar chest with white milk paint and it ...
well it was a total bust!  I've read how unpredictable it can be.
And... I was just sayin how much I love chippy painty peely wood but yall
this was a whole nuther story.  It was bad. By the time I got the first thin application on
my paint was curdling like dadgum cottage cheese.... and then everything started curling and chipping right off the sides.
Ohmyword.  I waited til completely dry... and barely wiped off  with sandpaper like the directions say and  most of it
landed on the dropcloth.  Mixed up more paint... did it again... same thing.
I didn't have the hardener you can buy to put in it.  My mistake
Oh well... I'll just have to load it up and sand the whole thing down and start over
with different paint this time.  The black milk paint that I used on the chair was not like
this at all.  Then I used the beeswax on the chair and it turned out so differently. I love it.
...We learn as we go right?
I probably learn as many lessons from things going south as I do
when they go right.
Myguy is supposed to be home soon... hopefully he'll help me carry
this chest to the shop so I can sand on it in the dry tomorrow.
Did yall hear?.... Laura is coming to Arkansas.
I've never seen a hurricane before but ...here we are.
We shouldn't be surprised -
afterall it is 2020.

Until we meet again,
<*)))><
ps.  Please give your dogs  a scooby snack from me.
