Sometimes it's hard to get it all done.
Sometimes it's impossible really.
The never ending to do list.
Anyone else a lister?
We make lists of appointments to keep and if you're like me
if you don't write it down... it's too easy to forget and
might not get done.
Well, recently, I finished a book called Microshifts.
It was so good.
My copy is now highlited, underlined, and dog earred.
One of the things I enjoyed in this book was the idea of making a to live list.
I often do this in my own journal, just writing down my dreams.
Things I'd love to do... see happen, experience...
places to see with my own two eyes.
Sometimes they're off the charts... so big it feels like they could never ever happen..
but they might!
They could...
because with God all things are possible.
The author of microshifts challenges to write five things that you would
like to experience in the next six months.
I've never connected a time frame to dreams but why not?
I'm writing my five things now.
I would most definitely make number : Get rid of this back/hip pain.
That would be my number one. I don't know what that would entail...
a sheer miracle... shots, surgery... - but..if it's my dream I'd rather
get a miracle.
2. Go to Israel but...
with covid... and the uncertainty of it ... that really makes a travel dream seem unattainable for now... still Israel is such a desire of this heart.
If I ever make it there... I'd love to get baptized in the Jordan river,
float in the dead sea and pray in the garden of Gethsemane.
3. Discover and hone my own art style.
4. Get to where I can turn off my head at night
and get a really good night sleep. No what if's,
no mulling, analyzing, or bad dreams.
Sweet sleep, most every night.
5. Find a church to call home.
I wrote a few more but they'll
remain secret.
So now you've read some of mine...
what are yours?
Happy listing....
until we meet again,
<*)))><

Dear Lea - I pray that your hip and back pain receives a miracle. My mom has so much back pain as well as hubby - sure would like them to get well too. Yes Israel would be on my list of things I'd love to do - and the art thing too. Will be "looking up" for you to find a Church family that you could call home. Keep seeking friend - God answers the deep heart's desires. Take care and have a blessed weekend. Hugs!
Sounds an interesting book Lea. I really will have to sit down and think about what I'd like to experience in the next six months. I know one would definitely be if my brother's next scan has a good result. I agree with the what ifs...it would be great to stop that kinda thinking.
Need to think up more and add to the list. mmmmm (thinking)
Sounds like a great book.
If I had five items on my list they would be:
1: Become closer to God thru prayer and study
2. Go to Norway/Sweden
3. Organize my home and studio
4. Use up my art supplies and try new ones
5. Take better care of my gardens
Loved your post. Thanks for the idea and the book recommendation
