June Reflections.... and Today July 1

Journaling thoughts...
Looking back at the events of the past month is
gut wrenching.
I was  glued to the News...and
I heard real cries of true injustice.
I watched in disbelief as life poured out from
the  man who couldn't breathe...
I'd never met him-
but will never forget.
I watched the world protest together
because black lives matter.
And...I  witnessed the lootings  of evil.
I watched  monuments falling.

I've been told to keep distancing and wear a mask
in public places.
Every day the News tallies Corona numbers that continue to rise
 and I ask ....
"when will all of this end Lord?"

I have seen the look of fear in eyes above the mask.
Can  life ever be normal again?
-I  miss gathering together.
-I  miss assembling together.
I  miss Holy Communion.
-I  miss hugs and shaking hands...
and just being close.

--So many things the whole world has  taken for granted. (I have taken for granted.)
--even... toilet paper.

Turning the calendar page feels good today
but I'll admit... there is apprehension  too.
Because who'dve ever thought we would live a global pandemic?
And so ...what's next?

I know we can't change other people or
a deadly virus.
But I can change me.
It starts "here."

I want  hope
And want to find goodness.
I want to hear good news and that
life and people are being better.

I will  love  my neighbor no matter
what they look like.
-To see their hearts... and  souls.
May I learn  from my mistakes Lord  and
move  forward ...
Doing better.
May I look to You and
 love more like You.
 Show me how to be,
what to do,
and how to serve.

I've learned there's much I can't control.
But I know that You still are and
I trust You.
No matter what happens today...
I  look to You.
I Love You.
May I love my neighbor as myself.
Help me to act justly.
To Love mercy...
and walk humbly
with You my God.
Today.

love, LeaonMary

Oh yes. We have hope because of Him.

Beautiful post and hopes. Following Jesus gives me hope as he tells us to shine and be light in all situations including this time of crisis.

Dear friend you express so many of my own thoughts in this prayer. In the beginning of this virus I had hope that by this time we would be seeing an end in sight...but God is in control and as my mom says it will end when He says it will. We are fortunate because we are allowed to worship once again...many do not because of health issues - so miss them. We do the best to wear masks and practice social distancing. Hope that this time next year things will be better. Let us both keep this prayer in our hearts. Hugs!

Hi Lea, there is no doubt it is a disturbing time that we live in but when we look back over history there has never been a peaceful time. Thankfully Jesus came and gave us hope. He left his heavenly peaceful perfect home that we might believe. What a turbulent world we live in but oh how it is prophesied in God's Word.

Thank you for sharing about the hope we have in Jesus and only He can save.....

Blessings and JOY

Hi Debra.. you know what? I don't know what a person does without hope in Him?
Well... the old me does I guess... Not only did I have no hope but no peace at all.
Terra, I like how you see that... and it's so true. He does tell us to shine and be light into the world.
Thanks for visiting Diane Pinyan
Debbie it sounds like you are being very careful. I try to as well but it's amazing how many people around these parts anyway who think the virus isnt real and they life like nothing has ever happened.
Hi Jeanie.. I have never thought of it like that. It reminds me though of the scripture in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
