Templeton and Snake In The Coop

Since the playlist is turned off for now, I thought I'd try to load the video of the snake that caught me by total surprise in the chicken coop. But first; .... meet another creepy crawly that also caught me off guard inside the tack room in the barn.

I knew a rat had been in there, because it made a nest on -of all things.. our live trap! Yep... the crazy thing carried a pile of hay and made a nest on top of a trap which wasn't set. Not seeing the rat in sight; I moved a board that was laying on the floor and....... *scream* it was right behind the board! lol Forgive the picture but it scurried up the wall so fast, I almost missed taking it's picture all together. It takes a gal at least a few seconds to stop screaming you know. Then it disappeared. Walking into the larger area of the barn; I spotted him perched behind a beam.
From this angle he's kind of cute. What do you think? Cute, or is your skin crawling?
Well, I can deal with mice and rats much better than snakes, and this year we've had more than our share of em. Because of this, I try to be mindful of them all the time. But after awhile, you kinda forget about them and just go on.... until you open your chicken coop door and find a huge one right on thee other side of the door. Replaying this video a minute ago, I just started laughing! On this day, I'd been taking macro flower pictures in the garden, and then stopped off at the coop to gather eggs. I was totally in my own little world. Until the door was opened that is! lol

You might think I'm a big chicken myself after watching this... I was out of breath from running after my hoe and then tried to be all "brave" to get it out of there. Forget that! When I turned off my camera, I ran for helppppppppppppppppppp! heeheehaahaahoohoo -- Maybe it wasn't poisonous at all. If not; maybe one of you will know what it *was.*

I know; I know... where there are mice or rats... you will find snakes. But this one, was eating our breakfast. You can only imagine how slowwwwly I open that door now after this day.

Father Bless Me Indeed

Greetings and Holykisses,

4 o'clock was a little earlier than I usually get up. Actually; alot earlier!
I tried to close my eyes and drift back to dreamland, but .... it didn't happen. So I knew it was time to just get up and see what God had for me today.

My daily read- through is still in the book of Numbers. After that; I began reading and preparing for the Ruth study, then an Elizabeth George book and then my devotional. I'm so glad I got up! It was a very enlightening morning even though the sun had yet to rise.

First, Numbers 29, and 30 had me pondering my own vows and commitments unto the Lord.
Do your vows and commitments always stand? Sure wish I could say mine always do, but they don't. Then I read in Quiet Confidence For A Woman's Heart, about a challenge that was given at a seminar:

Taking a 3x5 card and writing the 4 A's.
Any thing
Any where
Any time
At any cost.

Will I follow God, and do anything He asks me to? Go anywhere He leads me? At any time He leads me, no matter what the cost?

The idea to focus on this commitment is to prayerfully sign and date the card.
It reminds me so much of a card I used to see on my angel Mother's refrigerator. On a card just like this, she wrote in permanent marker: USE ME OH Lord.

Vowing my commitment... and in some cases re-commitments... I signed and dated my card this morning.

Just as the Lord woke me early today; and I actually got out of bed; I'm noticing changes. Not just around me but in me? I feel like I'm being stretched a little. And I want more than anything to follow God and do whatever He asks me to do even if that means stepping out of my comfort zone.

My husband took this picture of me recently while I was brush hogging our front pasture. A brush hog is basically a very powerful and dangerous mower deck that you pull behind a tractor.
I used to love to brush hog! But one day, I hit a rock that came flying out from under the brush hog. Somehow, it bounced off the tire and hit me in the face. It really hurt. I think I actually cried,... but it could have been so much worse.* ......Climbing back on and facing my fears really took me out of my comfort zone.

As I made round after round in the pasture, I began to notice something. I kept spotting field mice and one rabbit running away from the tractor. They kept trying to stay in the tall grass of the circle that I had yet to mow. Little by little their comfort zone got smaller and smaller. They were afraid to venture into the open expanse; wanting to stay in the tall grass they were comfortable in. On my last round they were pushed beyond. In a leap they crossed into a freshly cut, beautiful meadow. It was as if their little world just opened up before them. The only thing they had to do was make that first commitment and go with it. Take the first step. A little leap of faith.

A few years ago, I learned the prayer of Jabez. 1 Chronicles 4:10 says, "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."

I'm making Jabez's prayer mine today.
Committing the 4 A's.
Anything
Anywhere
Anytime
At any cost.
"

Have a wonderful day!
Holykisses xoxo

My First Video! Have You Pet Yer Armadillo Today?

This little armadillo was in our back pasture today. Thought I'd video him just for fun. You'll have to turn your volume way up if you wanna hear my goofy voice. *(maybe the leprosy thing is an old wives tale; not sure... but I do know they can tear an acre of hide off you with their claws.. please don't ask how I know this. lol) Oh; and one more thing... no armadillo's were injured in the making of this silly video.

Have a great day!

Don't forget to put your own armour on!

Oh Happy Day

Hey everyone in blog land. This is Trent. Lea's son. The video above is from a long time favorite movie of mine. I had not seen it in a long time but recently I watched it on t.v. This song just put goose bumps on me, and made me smile at what a happy day. I have watched this video on youtube almost everyday for a week and it really makes me smile and be happy. Thought I would show mom this evening the video I have been watching. She was smiling and dancing all the way through... guys what a sight! makes me smile all the more. She said that I had to post it on here and say hello to everyone. I hope this may put a smile on your faces. Oh happy day, when jesus washed my sins away!

Risk Video

Greetings and Holykisses,

Today, I worked in my purposefull life bible study, by Jan Johnson. In the lesson, I was asked whether or not I'm a risk taker? This is a huge one for me... And I've definitely been learning to take risks for the Lord. Not sayin I always do, coz I'd be lyin, but I want to have the "COURAGE" to do so! Haaaa!... ohmygosh, "courage" was yet another word that came earlier today too!

I have to share the video that continued connecting my dots." Perfect timing I'd say!
I really like the way Francis Chan- author of Crazy Love, expresses our routine.* Totally cracked me up, and yet it speaks volumes of truth doesn't it?
Let me know what you think!
