Getting Prepared... New Year New Beginnings

Good morning friends,
As I sat at my table this morning, I snapped a few photos
for my fellow planner and journaling friends.
Some of my books are ending... and while that's kinda sad- it's also
very satisfying to have journals finished.

It was also a delicious start of the day using my new cup sent to me
from one of you.  You know who you are.  :)
I absolutely love it and the message!
Thank you with all my heart!

What a scrumptious breakfast today.
Coffee and blueberry pop tart.
s.  plural... coz yeah of course I ate them both.
(don't judge)

I think it was black Friday weekend that I ordered my first prayerful planner.
So it's sat on my shelf just waiting and waiting for the new year to roll in.

Presence is my new word and
today I'm seeing even more how it's been finding me.
I see it in the word, devotionals, other books,
christian art, ... even this little box right in front of my face.
It always gets me when stuff happens so that you know that you know
that you know
you're on the right Path afterall.

So opening my new planner, it felt good and right
to fill in the blanks.
To dare to write it out loud.
To just start.

I didn't know it at the time of finding my word, but
the scripture that will be the year's  anchor verse  is also in the front of this planner.
Psalm 16: 11

This is before the pen but my goals are now  set.
The vision board needs more time to find photos but it's one of
my favorite things to do.

I'm on the very last page of the moleskine on the left.
Almost every day this year I wrote a daily scripture from my devotional.
So this book is chockfull of the word of God.  Also challenges I faced, problems,
things that happened weekly.  Out of all the journaling I've done; these are my favorites to look back on. And a brand new one next to it is waiting in the wings

I was glad this morning that all the Christmas decorations are still out.
Found myself looking up at this nativity  so often.
It's old and nestled in the snowy forest of this antique stepback cupboard; - well
I'm savoring it all.
Savoring memories of 2020 and writing them in Emily here.  (traveler's notebook)

When it's time to bag up the big tree and ornaments; this
will be the hardest to pack away.

I need to print a photo of it to glue in Emily here.
That will be a way to keep it out longer.

By the time the new year arrives... a whole cafe note by Nanami Paper
will also be ready to pack away.
Thought I'd share what I like to use for those of you who also write daily and might be interested.
I get these little notebooks on Amazon and they fit perfectly in a personal sized
travelers notebook.  The cafe notes are b6 slim size.

It took many notebooks, and years to find my sweet spot.
B6 for monthly inserts and always b6 slim for emily here.
I love that the cafe notes use tomoe river paper.
Fountain pen friendly.

Speaking of fountain pens...
This is a Christmas present.
It's a Benu and flows like a dream.
I love medium nibs.  Some stubs too.
This pen is kind of fat for my small hands but
it feels good and makes writing very pleasant.

This is my other new pen and a new hobonichi cousin to sketch in.
The hobo also has tomoe river paper and so I'll sketch with carbon black ink that does not smear
and watercolor paint as well.  This book will be kept next to the bed to quick sketch something of the day at the end of every day.  I fall off that wagon sometimes and always wish I hadn't.  So it's
something I really want to try to get back in the groove to do along with the daily examen.
This  pen is also a Christmas present... and is a Stipula.
I was having trouble with it at first but last night it started writing better.
It felt at first like a fine nib instead of a medium... but I think it had a slight clog that burped out.

Check out this prompt in the front of the hobo.
I never know if I should write out the previous year highlites or wait until the end of the new year.

Well I better sign off and get my outdoor chores done in the pouring rain.
It's gonna be a cold one putting hay out.
While I do... I'll be trying to think of a new puppy name.
I can't stop thinking of her.  (the one on the left I think)
Boy doesn't that sound iffy still?
I have a list of possibilites... a name is important you know!
Biblical names, old fashioned names, Flower names... -- there's a running list.
Okay gotta get to feedin,
Yall have a wonderful day!
Thanks for stoppin by the shed.
Until we meet again,
<*)))><
