Autumn Gratitudes

I'm thankful for this ole pond and having a place to dip a worm
when I can't think of anything other than
"I wonder if they're bitin?"

For these dirty britches that are evidence
the bass practically jumpin in my pockets.

For my first young channel cat? caught here.
All the others:  bluies.
It was so pretty and reminded me of a rainbow trout
(if it wasn't for the whiskers.)

For calm waters when this soul
felt a little  stormy inside.

For an email of encouragement from a friend I've never met.
Reading her words.. I took  heart.
Thank you God.

For this little roo ...
-- can't say I'm not still pining for a good dog but
for now... he has brought a few chuckles along the way.
And his name Marshmallow Snowball does have a cute ring to it
thank you Blakeleabear.

For time with my sweet.
A princess no less; who still loves her some chicken.
Her gentleness... her sympathy shown ... her kind awwww's...
thank you Lord.

For the fun we had walking out to  the gnome tree ...
Jerome (the gnome) had even left  a letter and candy.
Her look of surprise and delight ...
her exclamations...
forever engraved me.

For this whole grammy gig... I get to enjoy...
For a picnic lunch... pretended
along with a teaparty.
For holding hands with a dolly... circled around the tiny table
and hearing Blakelea bear pray outloud in  her
singsong voice.
Her thankyou for our  plastic food... and her "I love you God," at the end...
still brings me  tears.
Oh thank you God.

For time with my Michelle...
for her friendship.
For taking turns pushing the wheelbarrow... I mean carriage
that the little Princess rode in...
thank you God.

For my handsome love...
How sweet he is to me...
His friendship...his listening ears and way he  lifts me up when
I'm unsure.

For getting the  kitchen porch removed this week....
and   next step forward.... new roof...
 then another porch.
-- For the means to get our old house fixed little by little by little.
Our home sweet home.

Riding the tractor together in the dark...
bucket load after bucket load of old hay and litter to the
big pasture compost pile...

For a clean barn and fresh hay stacked.

For wishes sent into the breeze...

for the beauty of Autumn...
colors so rich.

Leaves that have been staying a little longer...

For this rainy day.... and stopping a moment on the driveway.
Pausing to take it all in ...
and .. syncing  my Christmas music too.

For a beautiful drive to the next town  over... all
by myself.  Peaceful and Joyful.
These eyes to see through contact lenses...
meadows of green with treelines beyond fully ablaze
Fall.

Crossing the river ...  water like glass....
red and orange sumac ...  ablaze.
Round bales dotting the fields like polkadots...
and the steady light rain with  wipers
 lulling to my radio.

Such a beautiful day...
and beautiful blessings ....
Thank you God for all these things and so much more.
Thank you for my every thing.
