Hi friends,
Quick post for now.
I had to get up early and pick. Funny that it's eat your vegetables day huh?
I'll be having steamed squash for supper I know that for sure. And
I have an awesome squash casserole recipe that I've been craving.
It has ritz crackers and lots of cheese in it. Oh my word.
Anyways you can tell what I'll be doing today.
I thought I'd can these beans but I don't have a pressure cooker anymore.
Mine was old and I swear it gave me close to an ulcer. I remember it would go
to rockin those little round things and I'd be hiding behind chairs and the door jam..
watching and just wondering if it was fixin to blow. ha I'm not kidding tho.
I just knew it was gonna take me out.
I need to buy a new one coz I know they've come a long long way.
So instead of canning today I'll be freezing instead.
The cucumbers are just starting so I don't have those to deal with yet.
If they do good I might make pickles.
I'm so thankful everything doesn't ripen at once aren't you?
I'm still pickin red raspberries and the blackberries
are just beginning. Picked a truly ripe one today. You learn patience in a blackberry patch.
Because those not quite ripe ones aren't worth poppin in your mouth. Ohno. lol
I started the new study this week... men and women in the bible.
It has a different format at the end of each day that is harder for me but
it makes ya think more and hopefully take it more to heart.
Had to share a pic of my brunch while I studied. I've been using my Momma's
pink roses plate alot lately. I feel like a queen eating from it.
In my gratitudes... is the marriage between pink lady apples and green olives.
Don't knock it until you try it. You just gotta try it. It doesn't have to be a pink lady but has to be a really sweet one like honeycrisp or something. It's gotta be sweet. Then you want those olives all up in your apples business when you make your plate. ohmmygoshhhh.
It's sooooo good. Just trust me. It could change your life.
(okay maybe not really but ... oh just try it!)
I gotta go... there's a mountain of zucchini to grate before me.
Until we meet again
Lea

Good morning Lea, I can hardly believe you are harvesting already!! Lots of fresh veggies doesn't get better than that...those berries look so juicy too.. My favourite apples are pink lady (and Ghyllie's too)!! Your Mum's plate is beautiful.
Your new study sounds interesting, isn't it great that we are always learning.
We have had thunder and lightning storms and heavy downpours which has encouraged the snails to appear and considering they move slowly it's amazing how they get around so my brother is watching over the tomatoes in the greenhouse especially as it's his first year growing. I potted up some marigolds and put them in the greenhouse as they are supposed to help keep greenfly away. I was hoping to get some chillies for him too but with lockdown the garden centres were closed. Anyways he will be on snail patrol!!!!
Thank you for sharing your blessings... I have loved seeing all the pictures. Hope you enjoy the squash casserole I am sure it will be delicious...mmmmmm!!!!!
