Greetings and Holykisses,
Before another day slips by;
I thought some of you might like to see a few recent thrifty finds.
I always love it when my fellow junker bloggers share what they come across, on their travels.
It's fun to see what other people like, and collect. It's also inspiring to learn new ways
to upcycle.
-- With that said;... here are a few things that came home with us
over the last two weekends. .
over the last two weekends. .
This little bunny picture is small and for 25 cents;
it now sits on a shelf in the shabby, olde, potting shed.
Mrs. Potter and Brussel Sprout (our rabbits)
will surely approve.
will surely approve.
Then there's this pair of wooden shoes.
I call em my woody clod-hoppers.
They were a whoppin $5.00. But I like them.

We found them while on a motorcycle ride.
1 clod-hopper for each saddle bag -on the ride home.
I think the TOADS will love them with holes drilled through the bottoms,
and ... impatiens planted. Once upon a time...
"There was a shabby olde woman
with 2 wooden shoes,
she had so many toads,
she didn't know what to do...."
- How about a new piggy bank for Trento?
He accidentally broke his last wine bottle bank and asked me to look for another.
You shoulda seen his smile when I gave this to him. lol
I smile all over just thinking of it!!
Isn't it funny.. the things that tickle
our fancies?
This birdhouse is something Myguy found.
--He really liked it!
We hope the birds will too.
He found a few wrenches as well.

Vintage birdcages are in so many magazines these days, and
when I come across one, they're always too much dough.
This weekend we found this cage and the price was right; -- it's in really good shape too.
It looks kind of Art Deco to me.. but I know nothing about them yet.
It still needs to be cleaned, but last night

It became
inspiration for my very last page in my soul journal.
I hadn't played in my art journal in so long.
The verse below will go on my final page along with a picture of this very cage:
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
(I'll try to start adding more pictures under my soul journal tab soon- and am now anxious
to get another new watercolor book!)
-- sorry for the ramble but just had to share that!
Okay... two more to go:
Hang in there.
Then we found a Singer base!
Funny- because I'd just "pinned" one on Pinterest. It was painted
white and I thought how cool it would be to have one in our garden.
I love the legs made into tables because they're nice and heavy,
and the iron can withstand the elements.
and the iron can withstand the elements.
When we bought this one, I thought I'd just lay painted turquoise boards across the top
and leave the base rusty.
and leave the base rusty.
I could already see flower pots on top.
But then...
We came across this sink.
Neither Mike nor I had ever seen one ...this size before.
The two were a match.
They fit ..... snug as a bug
in a rug.. twogether
--A "Singer Sink."
Or ...sinked Singer?
Take your pick.
...I guess with a plug, it could be a bird bath.
Or a bird feeder.
How bout a plant stand.
Potters bench?
...A place to wash my dishes?
Or even wash the dogs?
Time will tell.
:)
Last but not least...there was one other thing we found over the weekend but
I forgot to take a picture of it and we haven't got it home yet.
We found another antique iron bed!
A real oldie!
Too bad we didn't have the pickup because we didn't have room.
Oh well; this gives me more time to figure out
"where" to plant it and the one from the week before. I'm starting to think I need to organize my
gardening chaos and begin getting my ducks (iron beds) all in a row.
I like the surprise of finding them scattered out back in unexpected places, but
a row of them for raised beds is on my to do list.
Speakin of to do lists... it's time to get outdoors.
As always thanks for stoppin by the shed today.
If you have time, please share your latest finds with me as well!
Happy Junkin.
Oh happy day.
Oh happy day.

Lea, I am loving all your finds. The birdcage is super. Your expressions just made me smile today I haven't heard them for a long time - mum used to say "clod hoppers" and dad used to say "snug as a bug in a rug". Thank you Lea for the joy to bring.
God Bless.

When I saw it..immediatley a favorite song of mine by Dara Maclean called FREE ;) came to mind...the lyrics say:
"I was CAGED IN and then YOU opened every door that held me bound and you gave me the key!" Goes hand in hand with your verse from Galatians...it is for FREEdom that Christ has set us FREE! He even gave us the KEY!

Wowie wooo the Lord really blessed you my sister!!!! Can't you just see Addiedoo having a little beauty parlor in that singer sink??? we so share the same heart with regards to vintage finds. One of my favorite planting in Bellingham was my cloddy hoppers, painted in reds, blues and yellows. So cheerful with posey's poking their pretty heads out. Wonderful to read and feel your heart friend!!
