Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I'm writing this at 11:34 my time- less than a half hour til Thanksgiving.
The pies are done, and the 7 layer salad is chilling. We need to change the name to 6 layer salad though since I always leave all thee onions out. ;D Thankfully, I'm done for the evening, all but the dishes. They're soaking in the sink as we speak.

Just found out today that our son Tony will be with us tomorrow so we'll have both boys home with us. We're so happy!! -- Some of you have been sharing on your blogs what you're fixin for your feast so I thought I'd share our menu as well. This is what our family likes and will be eating for Thanksgiving:

Menu
Turkey
mashed potatoes
Gravy
stuffing
sweet potatoes
Green bean casserole
corn
6 layer lettuce salad
cranberry sauce out of the can- you know so it looks like a can when sliced? ;)
potato rolls
pumpkin pie
strawberry pie

I did stay up half the night last night putting up our Christmas tree and decorating the house. Didn't really do that much; but you know how it is: You have to take alot down, to make room for the Christmas decorations. You kinda end up with this humongous mess that only seems to get worse n worse for hours on end. Until finally; you just start boxing up and tucking your regular knicknacky things in cupboards and hidden places til sometime in January. And you hope you remember where you put it all. Sound familiar?

Isn't it funny how opening totes and boxes full of Christmas decorations is ... well; it's sorta like Christmas!?? How many times did I say, "I forgot about that!" (Yeah I really was talking to myself, although Addie and Francoise were pretty sure I was directing conversation to them.

Anyways, it feels so good to have all of that already done. Well; all but the lights on the house that is. The lights are Myguy's job. He usually starts tackling that Thanksgiving afternoon. He kind of has it down to a Science now. He builds a manger out of old pallets and sets up the nativity out front, and then starts hanging the white curtain lights. Last year it took him alot longer though because a rat or something ate the cords off the 3 wisemen out in the shed. I hope the Dcon did the trick and we don't have that problem this time. And speaking of Christmas lights I better go find the little remote. Myguy always puts the lights on a remote so I don't have to go outdoors in the cold at night to turn off the lights. But every year, he asks me: "Where's the Christmas lights remote control?" I hate to say it but once again...... I have no earthly idea. It has a special place to be... but someone keeps losing it.

It's now well after midnight so I can officially say Happy Thanksgiving to yall! I better go finish up the dishes so I can hit the hay. Gotta get up before the chickens so I can clean and stuff that turkey. That really doesn't sound quite right does it.

I'm counting all of you as my blessings!
Holykisses and Happy Thanksgiving!!
xoxo
