Happy Monday!
Hope you all enjoyed yesterday's festivities, celebrating the birth of our nation!
We had a great day, here at the Shed!
We love living in the good ole USA and proudly display the red, white and blue.
Like many of you, we enjoyed a barbecue as we celebrated the Fourth of July.
We had friends over for cheeseburgers and all the fixins. Brats, hotdogs burnt -just- right, chicken, baked beans, corn on the cob, chips, dip, watermelon, potato salad, and scotcheroos.
Our friends brought their four wheelers over, so after over indulging on all the food, we loaded up and went riding. It was so much fun!!!!!!! We're blessed to live in an area with beautiful back roads, and don't have to go far to find them. We rode a long time, and at the very end, two of us blew out tires at the rock quarry. Thankfully we were able to limp our way home.
By then, it was getting close to dark, so we loaded up and headed into town. A local church had the most wonderful fireworks show. It was the best we'd ever seen! Huge, showers of color and big ole bangs. Ohmygosh* what a treat!!!
When that was over, we headed to our son's house and did all our fireworks there. Everyone chipped in and bought some of the big bad boys. Actually, one was called one bad mother but I wasn't too crazy about that* name! lol I must say; they were beautiful though!!!!!!!
When they were all done, we sat around a bonfire til around midnight; roasting marshmallows and chowing down on smores and chatting. It was so nice. I think we should start having friends over more often and keeping chocolate bars, grahams, and a bag of marshmallows on hand for the rest of summer. There's just nothing like sittin around a campfire. Makes you want to start singing "Kumbaya my Lord," doesn't it?
I'm sorry to say, I didn't take very many pictures yesterday. I couldn't hang on and carry a camera while four wheeling, and I take pretty awful night time pictures... The day will forever remain in my memory bank though!
Time to start carrying laundry to the clothesline, and cleaning up around here. Tomorrow evening is our Ruth bible study and I still have preparations to make; I'm getting so excited!! Think I'll cut a fresh bouquet of zinnias for a centerpiece and start looking through my recipe box for something yummy to bake these special ladies.
Have a wonderful Monday!!

What a wonderful fourth for you and yours!!! I agree with you about the fire, smores and all. Just feels so good to relax and enjoy friends and family. Got the giggles when you said chicken burnt just right. What is it about the chicken that this ALWAYS happens. Thank you for sharing your happy fourth. I got skype with my family and see my hubby, son, and daughter in love, and my friend Janet;-)

4th Lea. Glad you are so blessed. we had a fun one too. no 4 wheelers for us, just lots of hay moving. My hubby is hard to get him to stop sometimes, we finally made it to the festivities. He needs to read your blog post and then he'd know what a good 4th is.
