Exploring The Mountains

Greetings and Holykisses,

Decided to add one more blogpost today. We hope to do more exploring this weekend and I hadn't even shared our last excursion yet. Last weekend, we took a drive up into the mountains. The Ozarks that is-- If you've never been to thee Ozarks, .... it's truly beautiful. We love living in Arkansas!
In Boxley Valley we watched the swans for awhile. (Thankyou Codi for telling me where they were!) They're so beautiful... so GRACEful!
After that, I got turned around. But I couldn't help but take a picture of this beautiful house!
Talk about going green!
Sometimes we talk about moving into the mountains. Simpler times... simpler days... so appeals to us. This little cabin stole my heart. I wish you could have smelled the honeysuckle in thee air. See it on the fence? We drove with our windows down the whole time and seriously, only the Most High God can create fragrance such as: heavenly honeysuckle!
It was a glorious drive. Deer frolicked in the road, ... and we pulled over time and time again to just enjoy everything the Lord put before us.
When I saw these steps, I pleaded with Myguy to pull over. What could be at the top I wondered? It was a little eerie climbing them. The steps had very large cracks underneath; just perfect for snakes warned Myguy. He was brave and went first to make sure it was safe. ;)
Look at this beeeeautiful house at the top! I could live there in a heartbeat. It even has electric to it...-we could plug in our modem... and even our old wringer warshin machine!

Myguy loved this house... TRUE STORY! He even mentioned seeing if it is for sale! Could you just imagine?
When I saw the clothesline my heart pounded. Talk about home sweet home.
You have to admit... it does have charm! Can you picture a little kitchen garden, and sheets hanging on this line with two lil pembroke corgis laying under the shade trees? (me too)

Back on the road, we passed this pretty old barn. Had to get out and take a picture for my dear friend Sue.
Here is another one. Smile Sue... you have another Ozarks barn photo!
Somewhere up hwy 23 we pulled over so I could take pictures of shasta daisies. When I got out, I spotted these. Gosh they looked like strawberries??????????
Squeeeeeeeeal.... they ARE strawberries! Wild mountain strawberries! I tell ya, God is soooo good!
On our way home, I saw this cute-lil, white house.
sigh* ..................... I decided it's true... Home is...... wherever you hang your heart. Or wreath!

Hope you enjoyed our lil drive.
We hope to go exploring some more over the weekend at some point, so please come back. Who knows what we'll find?

"The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." Isaiah 58:11

Holykisses xoxo

Wow, what a drive, thank you for taking us along. I truly love those houses and would live there. I was just wondering if the folks there think its as wonderful as we do?

Yep, the lord is good and it is the simple things in life now that make life worth it.

Looks like you had the perfect day for it.

Happy Memorial day weekend.

Oh My Gosh! I love, love, love those pictures. So very cool! My heart just leaps when ever I see these beautiful, old houses, sheds, barns, garages, whatever. I always say I wish the walls could talk and tell me the story. I wish I could have been along on the excursion with you and your husband.

Can't wait to see your Memorial week-end pictures next week.

Thanks for sharing. Debbi

The Ozarks is such a special place and I'm so blessed to live here! I LOVED your whole drive, the cabin I'd have to fight you for and the going green house is perfect along with the little white one! We are soul sisters! THANK YOU for posting the barn shots, you should enter them in contests or the county fair!

Arkansas is beautiful, Lea! We've been up there several times. My guys just got back from a fishing trip to the White River up north.

I love your new washtubs (warsh tubs). I have a real old rusty one - different shape. It's painted a chippy white, and it IS chippy. Needs repainting I guess. My hubby was spose to run me a water line out to the shed and I would have water to warsh my veggies, etc., but it hasn't happened yet. I think your's as a planter is great!

I also like your little paths through your garden. Our ground is pure-dee sugar sand, and I need some big stone slabs or something. I love looking at your blog and all your pictures! Probably wouldn't do for us to live close together! No tellin' how much I'd spend on garden stuff! I stay in trouble over that sometimes anyway - haha!

Hi Sweetness! Love your trip to the Ozarks!! And yes...I have been there! It was 32 years ago and was gorgeous! My sis lived in N. Little Rock and I lived with her for 6 weeks. We went all over the place...I especially loved Lake Ouachita, and of course the foothills and mountains.

You are indeed surrounded by beauty and all of those little homes and barns...hw lovely!!

Love your wash tub gal!! Everything you touch is so full of character and charm! Simply delightful!

Have a glorious weekend!
We just polished off some Mexican food and are celebrating my clean bill of health!! All tests came back negative!! WOOHOO!! I feel like I have been born again for the second time! Thank you Lord!!

Love you!
Becky

During our year living in NW Arkansas we loved taking drives to discover! Especially when this is what you would find. Many a day would go by that I would have taking a drive with the kids to just explore. Arkansas is so extremely beautiful. Thanks for helping me remember. :)

I loved your drive!! I adore the first barn, that was amazing!! I can just see you climbing those steps, and the squeel that came from with-in at that clothes-line. :-)

I took a neat picture last night on our drive as well, I'm thinking it may have been a "dorm" type "camp" home. I am not able to down-load until I return home. I will be sure and send it to you!!!

I've been watching for my June 1st scripture and I think I may have just found it...Isaiah 58:11.

Love,
Yolanda
