Last year, I himhawwwwwwwed too long on the cutest little potting shed advent calendar from Gardener's Supply. It was too expensive. This morning, I went back to the site and now they're sold out. Wouldn't you know... I snoozed... I losed. ;)
So here I am... asking you! If you have an advent calendar, or have ideas of how to make one; please share them here! I'd love to make one; especially something shabby-chic, artsy-funky- cool. Any ideas? Please share! The clock is ticking.............

Happy Advent! I have a friend who has the neatest thing she does for advent. They have and "advent chest". It's a simple row of small drawers, wooden, like and old apothecary thing, you know. It only goes a week at a time, since there are only seven drawers, but they put little surprises in the drawers for their boys each day of advent. Knowing you, you could really country it up...
just an idea!

I've never seen an advent calendar. I'll have to google it and see what comes up.

Well, I know Gardener's Supply has lots of other cute advent calendar things, but they are VERY high.
I don't have any good ideas. I also buy the cardboard ones with chocolate behind the door. :-)

I like how you said funky :) Steampunky? I saw an advent thing on a blog...a clothesline type row of wee stockings with a number on each one :) Who gets to open each day anyway? It would be a fight here...
Hi! I'm finally back on line. have missed you all so much!!
I've made a few Advent calendars but nothing really exciting.
A few of my neighbors and I exchange small gifts each year. One year I gave them all Advent wreaths that I made (of course they got their gifts a little early that year). Again, crafting isn't really my thing so it was a HUGE undertaking but the outcome wasn't too bad.
