A Few Things I Learned, and Discovered In August....

That August can be
even in Arkansas.
We've lived on this farm for 22 years but this is the first year
I've seen green grass during "dog days."

I learned again that God does
work things out for good
for those who love Him.

I learned to not
and drive and that I'll refuse to ride with you
if you do!

... That "forgiven" on
her is

I discovered what turning 49
feels like.
(good!)- especially over cupcakes.

I learned to use new inks and stencils
in my art journal and
became more free in journaling.

I learned you just never know when/how those
Godstops will happen.
But to follow through
... following Him.

I learned a lesson in giving
and by her example how to really pour into
someone's life.

I discovered this fondness for
orange marmalade and that I could eat it
every day...
and pretty much do.

How to say goodbye to my beloved bunny
Brussel Sprouts.  He got really sick...
and is no longer with us.  :(

I learned that my Angel Mother's dog "Mollie" passed away
after 16 wonderful years.

I  learned a few new words like:
aperture, shutter speeds, and manual mode-
as Myguy gave me a cool new camera for my birthday.
--and ...That said; I learned
there's  much  to learn!

I discovered my very first blue moon!

I rediscovered how much fun
a good olde demolition derby is!!

I discovered my most favorite, most comfortable  cowboy boots EVER:
Ariat Aztec Cheyenne Boots.
My feet have never been so deliriously happy.

I discovered some new music  I totally love:
Gungor and All Things New.

I learned we have a gray fox here... and just last night
saw him run out from under the crab apple tree.

I learned that along with God's love, mercy and grace- it  can also take some time to
restore the broken pieces.

I learned just this morning that
raccoons can be destructive and from now on,
birdfeeders will have to be put away at night.

....Fare well dear August....
May we meet again.

Amazing how much we learn in a month, isn't it???? Most of the time, we aren't even aware of what we are learning. Last year we were conserving on water usage. This year, we are like the tropics with green everywhere and vines growing around everything. I'm sorry, too, about the bunny and doggie, Lea. So hard on a softie heart. And Orange marmalade has to be my favorite of jams. I'll put it on everything if I can.
