My Thoughts and Prayers

Greetings and holykisses,

I had a post all prepared, but instead; I want to express my heartfelt sadness to those in Joplin and the other areas who lost loved ones and homes last night. The storms have just been unreal lately and it's so hard to understand???

When I turned on the news this morning and saw the devastation; I just sat there and cried. Not again!

One of our sons is working in Berryville this week and when I realized last night that those storms were around him, I texted him and we then talked on the phone. He said a really ugly cloud was right over him and the sirens had gone off. He was by himself at his motel room. I asked him where he could seek shelter and he said if he had to; he'd get in the bathtub.

Ya know; our boys are both grown but during storms; as their Momma, I still have the desire to want to protect them. I felt helpless last night and when we hung up I told him I'd keep praying, and I did. Thankfully, he was okay, but it breaks my heart to know others were not so fortunate.

Most of you have probably heard the video of the people in the convenience store at Joplin when the tornado hit. I don't think I'll ever forget hearing the voice of one of the women. The sound was so loud; ... a roar really. But over the noise, her voice was calling on her Jesus. Over and over I heard her calling out to Him..."Jesus, heavenly Father!" "Jesus! Jesus!" and then you could tell it was passing... quieting and then I heard her say, "Thank You Jesus." ---hearing that video, I believe I'd just witnessed what calling on the name of Jesus can do.)

God bless you all,

I have not heard that video but hubby has and he said all he could hear was her calling on Jesus. I do that all day long and I find even in my dreams I call out his name. There is just something so soothing about the name of Jesus that it can calm us and even the wind.

I to pray for all that have been effected by these storms, its more than I can fathom all the destruction. Only a few weeks ago Alabama and part of Ga was hit. One of our Ga towns was wiped off the map and 8 lives lost. Hubby commented yesterday, the weather seems to be getting worse and its more frequent and other disasters. Just keep reminding him of scripture in the bible about the signs before the lord returns. I so pray its today, oh what a wonderful day that will be.

God bless and keep you all safe.

Thank you so much for your prayers for Joplin. It is so hard to believe that this has happened. Faith in God is what will pull everyone through. Have a nice week. Twyla

I don't even know what to say. God's is in control, even in the storms. I'm thankful your precious son was safe.
