Day 31 New Years Eve

 Happy New Year's eve everyone.
It's been a long day; don't know if I'll make it for the ball to drop at midnight.
This morning I got bitten by the bug to take the tree and all the decorations down.
I was going to wait til this next week but when the mood to do that strikes;
it's best to just run with it.  So began the trips to the shed to get boxes and totes and
wrap the nativity pieces in tissues and untrim the tree.

I really can't get over how
heavy this artificial tree is.  I can't physically carry the tree in the box so have to carry the empty box
to the porch and then make three trips with the sections to the box.  Myguy always says he'll handle it from there.
 Good luck Myguy.
I mean really?????? How are you supposed to get it back in the dang box?
I found something that worked really well for wreaths and artificial poinsettias etc.
Old comforter bags.  Usually I use garbage bags to put them  in so they don't get dusty .. but from now on will
save all these type of bags since they're clear.
Anyways... it took most of the day but got it all done except the lights are still on the house.

Tonight the kids came over and made us tacos, tortillas and queso dip... it was so good.
And it was good seeing the wee one again.

This past week I was going through my cedar chest looking for a baby picture,
and I came across this baby blanket that I'd made in Home Ec when I was 15 years old.
I tucked it away and when we had sons ... I don't know it just seemed kinda girly still so we
never used it.  It was the strangest feeling washing, drying and folding it and putting it in the playpen
here for our grand daughter.  Pulling it out tonight and laying it over her while she snuggled with Papa... -- I can't even describe the goosebumps. It was  37 years ago I made that blanket.  Folks that's almost 4 decades. Unreal.

Well... time to  make a cup of  hot tea for me and diet coke for my man and cuddle on the couch  with my sweetheart.
I sign off with a final thought and scripture picture to end 2016.

Again Jesus spoke to them saying, "I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."    John 8:12

HAPPY NEW YEAR LEA AND FAMILY!!!!

What a wonderful story to begin the year, your beautiful baby blanket that you made and now being able to snuggle little Blakelea. Aww that is just amazing, I can imagine you would have goosebumps. The picture is gorgeous.

Must be something about this time of year when we look back...I was thinking about my first reading book at school, for some reason, and I remembered it was about a farmer and he had a collie, well that must be 50 years ago...wow!!

Anyways, reminiscing aside, Here's to another blessed year of friendship! Jeanie xo

Greetings! I'm impressed that you have all of your decorations stored away. I had a student take down my classroom tree...it didn't fit in the box either! Not even close!!
Happy New Year to you and yours. Take care, ~Natalie
