To Walk

Hi friends,

One of the recent prompts for documented life was to cover things up
that you actually liked. It's hard to do--
What I covered... was basically a love letter to the Lord.
Bits of my heart that only He could see.
Then brushing gesso over the top made it all melt together.
The words smeared to where they were no longer legible-
I kept thinking of Lent.
So grabbing  a pencil I smudged a  cross into the wet gesso.
It reminds me of the ashes I didn't get to receive.
...Layer by layer..

This is how it turned out.
Only God knows
what I wrote.
The next week's prompt was about
repeating things.
It's a simple page with few repeats
except for my verse I'm trying to memorize-
Thanks to the encouragement of my friend and mentor!
Romans 8:6
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

My other smaller book has started traveling everywhere with me.
Besides a regular planner it's where I'm also documenting faith.
Finally figured out how to make photos small on our printer,
and am now adding  pictures in the tip ins.
Already this little book means so much to me.

This quote has already been added to it.
Timely finding it... because I have a dream
that is  soBIG..
It's about places I want to see with my own eyes
and a pilgrimage I would love to experience.
The clock is ticking.

Meanwhile I've started walking again.
Talk about out of shape.
Walking every day is a goal that's  here and now.
Hopefully in the process a few extra pounds
will get re-shed!

My walkin partners have loved it.
I wish so much I could turn Aspen loose to walk beside me
but she doesn't mind that well yet.
 Addie is olde faithful and
unfortunately she's gained weight this winter right along
with me.
She seems to enjoy walking  with me -
just the two of us.
  To have no young whippersnapper
nippin at her heels.
It's been cold but enjoyable!  ... nice too  not  having to worry about
snakes.
-Or chiggers!

Last evening at sundown I heard something and
discovered Ophelia had followed along.
It felt like a scene from Milo and Otis.

Well I leave you with a new scripture picture.
My friend Jeanie text me this photo
of her cute wellies.
I asked her if I could use it
for a scripture picture and she
 so sweetly said, "Yes!!!"
Thank you Jeanie!

So I say, WALK
by the SPIRIT,
and you will not
gratify the desires of
the flesh.
Galatians 5:16

Thanks yall for visiting the shed today,
xoxo LeaonMary

I love when you share your art work Lea...so uplifting. Little Aspen is camouflaged in the snow, it is such a special time isn't it when they are pups, everything is so new to them, seeing snow for the first time. Wish I could join you for a walk. I need to work off the excesses of the winter hibernation (tea and scones!). Maybe when it warms up I will be able to get out more.
Sending BLESSINGS & HUGS.

I love so much when you share your heart/thought process as you work in your journals. To think that that letter to God is hidden beneath that paint is just soooo awsome!!!!

I need to join you on your walks and burn a few of those calories I didn't need. Bet the dogs are more than willing to help you !!!!

I just love that picture with the quote about setting goals so big. . .!!! That is just for me. I tend to "under goal" as they are easier to reach with less chance of failure. But I love the idea of growing into the person that CAN reach a higher goal. Thank you for that!
