Getting Root Bound Today

 It feels good in the word.  
To start the day with God ... just gets everything going right. 
This morning I read Matthew 6:33, 34 again.  "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own."  -- God wants me to focus on Him first... and just do "today."  Today.  Not frettin over yesterday's disappointments and heartache, and not thinking into tomorrow conjuring up all the what if's that could happen.  Just do today.  Today is reality.

The bible on the swing is wrapped up in the cover my Momma gave me several years ago.  It says, "Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord... 2 Peter 3:18.  It's always amazing to me how God uses His word to spur us on in so many different ways.  Like repetition... - with words... and all kinds of things or through people ... song lyrics... or a friend texting or emailing a verse.  I love that.  One of my dearest friends wrote today that they're prayin for me that I find reality and depth in trusting God.  She said that when I do; it'll deepen my roots. ...I really value her words to me and that's what I want.  I  just want to be rootbound in the Lord.  Have you ever seen a plant so rootbound that you can barely get it outta the pot?  I've seen them  growing plumb outta the drainage holes in a terra cotta pot.  Yeah; that's the kinda roots this soul wants. 

Well ... sorry if I've been kinda scarce lately.
I've had friends writing me wondering whats up??
We have had some storms of life lately but I'm trusting God to take care of it no matter what happens.  Also I've been gardening like a crazy woman.  I'm outdoors almost all the time now.  The gardens  my lil haven.  You other gardeners get what I'm sayin.  Thee enjoyment is bliss and there's alot of work to do too... weeding, watering, mowing, weedeating.  Everything is lookin pretty  good here  and I just pray it continues.  I've been keeping a little better log this year of things.  A few years back I made a garden journal out of bits of antique lace and old fabric, and tatters of embroidered doilies.  It's getting quite a work out now.  With it, and camera in hand... the garden is place to capture it all.  Snapping photos of all the birds, blooms and flutterflies... ??  This week I saw a butterfly that I've never seen before.  It was black and white like a zebra.  The dragonflies ... (heart) have been all around me,... hummers in the hollyhocks,  the most darling sparrows, mocking birds, one squirrel, ... the turtle was back yesterday morning... right under a tomato plant.  :)  The pair of geese are back this year on the pond.  Surely they're the same two.  Visitors I'm not enjoying are aphids on the mater plants and more squash bugs.  They're getting dusted... literally.  Die you lil buggers.    

 As I walked out of the cornpatch this morning to turn off the sprinkler; I saw a bird go into this birdhouse near the zephyr stove.  I know this little area needs some attention.  The sunflowers that popped up; did so on their own from birdseed that I toss on the stovetop.  I didn't have the heart to pluck them.  The angel trumpets are blowing their horns, and daylilies and mums fixing to bust outta their shells.  It's utter disarray... yet; somehow  makes me smile big inside.  The bird must like it too.

 Did you notice the scripture picture yesterday?  The door in the photo is my latest project.   Yesterday I was working on it and ... well; you'd think I'd learn my lesson the first time; but sometimes I gotta learn things the hard way... unfortunately..more than once.  See my pointer finger.   That's a burn on my finger--  thee exact likeness of the SCREW I touched after trying to put it in a board with the drill.  Yeah... can you say "hot?"  I did... very loudly.... after I grabbed the screw with that finger and the underside of my poor thumb too.  egads.  Learn from my mistake; ...- one  can not run a drill  for 5 minutes trying to get a dadgum screw into a board and  it not get hot I'll just tell ya.   

.. It drives me crazy that Myguy  can come out there and fix it in 2 seconds flat.  Its reasons like this he doesn't like  me to use his saws and stuff.  (Yeah... do you think?)  Anyway, had to share this picture with you coz it's sorta funny now... well it's funny so long as I don't touch anything with those fingers!  lol 

Onto a surprise!

This is something I've never seen here before.

While painting... I discovered wisteria pods!  

I kept having to hold back one big ole swaying in my face branch of it,

and that's when I saw it!  They're soooo cool, and there's several!  

I can hardly wait til they start to bust open coz I really want to take some down to the spring in the woods and plant them to grow up into the trees over the water!  

Maybe one day beautiful blooms will hang from the cedars and the boys will say, "I'll bet Momma planted those here."

This is his first year here.  His first flower was kinda lopsided in a pretty sort of way. 
Maybe the second will open today?

On my to do list is ... to go the Mulberry river and pick up more river rocks.

Sue, you asked about Old Blue.
The sunflowers are getting strong and are reaching higher by the day!
Other sunflowers planted a week before these are starting to bloom in my garden so it shouldn't be long now!  Gosh... after the ones here in the Chevy bed were planted they started lookin so spindly; but once they got a taste of sunshine... BOOM!   They just shot right outta this bed.

Baby Bleu is started to change color a little.  He's sheddin some hair under his eyes and around his muzzle like they do and it's darker!  I caught them in the corral yesterday and Bleu was being all shy and wouldn't let me catch him.  He needs  a halter and rope on him before he starts thinkin he's the boss of things.  It'll be easier when we get the pen finished around the barn, so I can leave them penned up.  Then he could actually wear a halter and drag a rope around for a few days. 

Grow...
