Friday's word: Afraid

Today, the word at 5 Minute Friday is:  Afraid.

Go:

My name's Leaon-
and I'm named after Uncle Leon.
It means courage-
like a lion.
Momma threw an "a" in there so it would be more feminine.
Am I ever thankful for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to be brave.
....Brave like a lion.

In the daylight I lean in on my God and he's my strength.
I know Him... believe Him, and I'm learning
more and more  ... to trust Him.
But at night time... that's when the giants come.
These "what if's" that aren't even real.
They're invisible, and I'm sleeping-
... but not all of me?

My friend encouraged me to write out Psalm 23 and
tuck it right under my pillow.
This beautiful prayer is right under my head.
The place my mind gets pestered in the dark and robs my rest.
This must tick satan off like crazy and I really hope it does.
Because my God is for me and I'm in the mind of Christ.
stop.

Hey, from Lisa-Jo FMF, I love how you keep the prayer under your head when you sleep. So many people associate that beautiful passage with death, I associate it with living and reaping the benefits that He has promised us through His wisdom, the Word. God Bless you and yours! Please keep up the lovely work, your blog is beautiful.

Ah, Lea, so funny and so true! May osmosis take that Psalm and sear it right in.

Bless your heart, Lea! (I have a Christian station playing very softly all night. Not music. All sermons. The few times I wake up at night, it is the word of God that I hear. Usually I fall right back to sleep and sometimes wake up with a great new thought in my mind. )

Thank-you for this. I relate so well to those 'what-if's'. I like that; tucking Psalms 23 beneath my pillow.

Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil...

Fear is definitely from the enemy. Praying you overcome this soon. The Word is powerful when spoken...so learn to speak, sing, quote, pray that verse out...You are the Lord's and he cares for you..Take care and be blessed!

Evening Lea, What a wonderful suggestion on putting Psalms 23 under your pillow..Satan has to flee! Be strong and of good courage...Your name says it all! p.s. Have you tried listening to your favorite songs by ear piece? Have a blessed weekend! Roxie

Been thinking about you, lady. I don't know why things seem so much bigger and scarier at night. That's because God is light, and we feel like (and wrongly) that God is far away in the dark. But he is there with you. You keep that note under your pillow and those verses in your heart. I'm praying that you'll pull out of this dark place and into the light again 24-7, Leaon.

Beautiful advice from your friend...We gave my grandson a bible to place under his pillow at night when he was going through a difficult period of his young life. It helped. :)

Atta girl! Love how you took authority in the name of the Lord. That last word was a good one. STOP!
Satan has no place in your thought life, because Jesus rules and reigns in that place. So keep going after that fear and in Christ you will be victorious. Remember he gives us the power to tread on serpents ;-)
Blessed be the name of the LORD!!!!

Love you Lea
