Like A Morning Glory Disciple

Greetings and Holykisses,

Walking passed  the prayer closet yesterday;
I stopped for a moment to deadhead tunies  planted
in the rusted out water trough.
That's when I noticed something:
A morning glory had reached out
and taken up the cross.

Can you find the cross?
-Front-row-
center; just under the bottom rail post.
It came in my mail recently from a dear blogger buddy, and it's a solar light.
Such a sweet
surprise.

How quickly this morning glory vine reached out and had taken up this cross.
Just how many days had it been since I'd entered into thy closet, and shut thy door to pray to my heavenly Father in secret?   Two days?  Three; I wasn't sure?  -Long enough for a morning glory to reach out and cling to the cross.  Far too long.

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.  You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in me, as I also remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.  Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.  I am the vine;  you are the branches.  If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."  John 15: 1-5

Oh to be ... like a morning glory disciple.
One that's been deadheaded by the Gardener; - encouraged to bloom.
Denying my selfish wants and busyness to simply follow Him-
Abiding every day.
... with all my heart.

Wow! I can't believe that vine found it's grip on the cross like that. I just love it. I wonder if my life, as it grows, is always seeking after the cross and gripping to it with all I've got. Gave me a lot to think about. . .!

How difficult we sometimes make things, yet we can learn from a morning glory to just reach out to the cross.
Thank you Lea for sharing and thank you Lord for your blessings every day.

Love Jeanie
