Matilda's Girl and Scripture Picture

Greetings and Holykisses,

Hi Friends!

It feels so good to sit with you this evening.
To rest in this olde chair.. and do a bit of catching up.
Not to mention... it's Wednesday and in the hopes of finding a scripture picture, I carried my camera everywhere I went today- just in case! Happily; I got a few pretty good shots to share with you.

Like Matilda's baby here; who greeted us on her "birth"day Sunday afternoon.
I can hardly believe she's only 3 days old in this photo.

She's one big boned girl! I really want to name her but Myguy reminded me in a hurry that we'll be saying goodbye to her in 5-6 months so; it's better to not get attached. I tried not to make eye contact... but she looks so much like her Dad; our old bull from the Abbey "Brother John."

We're thankful these two are doing well. This calf is Matilda's first baby and she's being such a good Momma. I spent the whole day around them and loved hearing her "moo-coos" to her girl.

This is some of what I've been doing this week. Picking up rocks in the back pasture and hauling them to the run off area from the pond. This ditch was getting deep and eroding pretty bad so now seemed like a good time to start filling it all in- while the grass is still short and chiggers and snakes haven't woken from their Winter's nap. I hope they haven't anyways. I did find two ticks on me tonight and killed several black widow spiders beneath rocks that were very, very much alive and well.

While this ditch may not look like much ... some of the muscles in the backs of my legs would really beg to differ. -- It might have just as much to do with tilling both corn patches nice and deep and the whole garden area yesterday as well. I think the proper term for what's happening here is called Spring Fever and ...I've got a bad case... how about you? --Tomorrow's high is supposed to be around 80 here! As badly as I want start planting... I'm holding off. While I have been transplanting a few lilac, hydrangea and forsythia suckers to other areas, ... I won't be jumping the gun. Too many times in the past I got over anxious and planted too early; losing all my seed to late frosts and freezes. No... this year, my word to remember is:
Patience.

The verse for today's scripture picture also speaks of patient waiting.

This one beautiful rock did not make it into the ditch.
Instead it has a new home on the possum belly cupboard in the shabby olde potting shed.
I knew picking it up, that it would be today's scripture picture.
More love,
Patience,
and heart for
our Jesus.

May the Lord direct your heart into the love of God and into the patient waiting for our Christ.

To God be the glory.

That is a perfect rock to save!!

That calf looks mean. Look at his eyes!

I want to start planting, too. We are to get to 74 tomorrow. I sure wish I didn't have to go to the dr. I need to be outside sanding my cabiet doors. Maybe I will get home in time to enjoy it.
My back is aching from just looking at those rocks you hauled. Ouch!!

I get ready for spring planting too early - EVERY year! That's why I decorated my mantel in a neutral theme yesterday. Didn't want to encourage the spring bug in me - just makes it harder to wait :)

My goodness, lady! You have had quite the workout carrying all those rocks! But what a treasure - the heart-shaped one. I love the words you chose to print on it.

Congratulations to Matilda.

I'm glad it's you doing all that work and not me. It's still chilly here. Loved your rock with the scripture.

I love your new baby, Lea! Phooey ---- I'd name him anyways. Everyone deserves a name. Just think ---- we have to BUY rocks and pay good money for them here in Florida. I loved your heart rock and you KNOW how much I love your word, patience!!!! I think we get a new name in Heaven, don't we????? That will definitely be your new name.
Did you get my answer to your email?
