Joyfulmess- Recording Some Love

Greetings and Holykisses,

This is our joyful mess.

We're in the middle of some remodeling and our house is in much chaos.
First; the new fridge was bigger than our old one so the cabinets above it had to be whittled down to fit. All the glassware etc in the cabinets had to be moved. There's no longer room for the white jelly cupboard in the middle of the floor, so it was emptied and moved. It's special, given to me by a friend. I used it for cookbooks in the kitchen. There must be room for it here somewhere because I really like it. -- Also see the roll of new carpet? The plan was to get it down last night... but you know how it is; plans change. :)

The plan changed with our son's phone call. He was on his way down to load up all the tools, pieces, parts, engines, etc...and his project race truck that he's had stored here to take back home with him. We just don't get to spend much time together these days... so we dropped our paintbrushes and left our mess to spend the evening hanging out all together loading his truck and trailer. It was fun!!!!!! It was our whole family, ... Michelle was there and we even had little Sylvester dog. It was a good night! Memories made. -- Time well spent.

This morning when I first tried to make my way past the stacks of baseboards laying in the hallway, and looked at the messes everywhere... - my eyes met the bone in the middle of the living room floor. It reminded me of a need. Real nourishment.

I sat in the prayer chair; still in flannel jammies and opened my bible to this page.
-Thankful the camera was on the table, because I really want to remember this day.
The word said again to "take up my cross and follow Him."
Then I went to Corinthians again and read several scriptures on love.
-Love is....
Not love was... or will be. It is ...and never fails.

I didn't read all of my lessons yesterday and hate getting behind on them.
But it was perfect for today.

Looking where I left off the last time.
The study was about our treasures.
I began asking myself "where my heart is today?" "Right now."
--Following God first.
--Then my husband and kids.
Even though it looked like our house needed some priority... and in my flesh looking at it all.. was making me nuts. I know it was good to put down the hammers and paint brush, to just go BE together.

That love stuff.
And precious time!
We hugged, said I love you's, laughed, kidded, gave a back rub, helped each other, --... more love.
Looking down this morning I realized even my slippers reminded me what it's all about.
They even say Love is all around.
And it really is.

Today; God willing, we'll get carpeting down on this stained up old pad.
And little by little thing things will get put away and back to order.

But until it does...
This love is real joy and I'm thankful.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:9-11

Thank you Lord,
xoxo

Always the order of the day is the lord first then the rest of the day falls into its own pattern. Good you got to spend some time with your son, those are precious minutes.

I know the feeling of a house not in order, I have to have order or I go nuts. But once all is tidy then we can look back and see a job well done.

God bless and keep your strength up.

After a rare day with 4 grandchildren here, our house has been out of order, too. It is REALLY quite now. I know that all week I'll be finding bits and pieces that will remind me of their visit...

Your house is going to look fab. (Glad you put "first things first" and took the time to enjoy each other & the Word, too!

I'm glad you could spend some time with your son. It's be good when you get that new carpet installed. Post a pic, so we can see the "after" photo :) :) Yes, I need the reminder to spend time with HIM today :) :) I'm going to make sure to read my Bible tonight, before I go to bed :) :) Have a great weekend. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

We had to take out some cabinets once to fit a new fridge in! Hope you find room for that darling sideboard somewhere! Your house may not be on order today, but your heart is always!!! Can't wait to see the room!

Hi Lea Great post on the importance of God and family. As you well know my house is so out of order with my Moms stuff here too that needs to be gone through. But today I too got away and went to a family wedding shower a couple of hours away. I actually think I relaxed a bit. I felt like God understands and knew I needed a break. Sounds like you did too. Feeding the soul and what is good for it!!! XO Love, Fran.
