A Fall Day

Greetings and Holykisses,

It's a beeeautiful day!!!
Just got in from checkin on "Marble Mocha Machiato." -- (Marble's a black white-faced cow who looks like she might just calve before too long.) So far; no calf but "Addagirl" and I sure enjoyed a nice stroll through the woods on our way home. Halfway back; I remembered it's bow season. Better dig out an orange vest this afternoon!
Speakin of orange:
Here's our only Pumpkin so far. I haven't been able to find a white Rudloff yet. Maybe next Spring; we should try to grow our own?!! Also pictured: a bundle of cornstalks we grew this year. Yesterday evening I finally got them all tied into bundles. Hearing the rustling of the dried leaves while I sorted and tied was sooooo therapeutic. Emmett Ross, our Shabby Olde Cat; thought it was great fun jumping on the stalks as I tossed em into piles. I think he likes the sound they make too!

Inside our house; Autumn has arrived as well.
The last of the summer clothes got bagged up, and out came the flannels, long johns, cute sweaters, hoodies and boots.

Fall botanicals now overflow from baskets, and as soon as you walk through the screen door, you can smell the fragrance of pumpkin wallflowers and candles. -And I'd almost hate to admit how much pumpkin bread and apple crisp has been pulled from the oven already. Oh well; all that baking gives me excuses to wear the aprons I so love.

With all this food talk, I have a question for yall. In need of some inspiration I'll ask,
" What foods do you look forward to dining on with cooler weather upon us?"
-- The SPECIAL at our house tonight is: Beans n Cornbread. I made a whole crockpot full and this is actually day 2. Mmmm!
Who wants a bowl?

Have a blessed day friends!
Holykisses xoxo
Lea

Chili (other soups, too) and Apple Dumplings. These are some of our favorites, Lea.

Home made chicken taco soup... I do not eat much of it anymore but my sweet husband chows down!

I have not even decorated for fall yet but maybe I will.... I bought two HUGE grapevine wreaths the other day at a garage sale and they would look oh so pretty on my house.... I need to get out there and decorate them.!!! Fall break is coming and I think me and hubby will finish painting the outside of the house..... we started it just before the HEAT hit and of course the HEAT has just now left the building...... sooooo we need to get out the brushes and get those shutters built and that front door painted! I will take pictures !

When you say beans and corn bread, what sort of beans are you talking about? Do you serve meat with it? I made chicken and dumplings the other night, taco soup is on next weeks menu and I'm also going to try shepherd's pie for the first time ever. =)
