Scripture Picture Matthew 23

Greetings and holykisses,

As dusk approaches, the chickens in the shabby olde henhouse all head to a ladder and decide which rung they wish to roost upon. They can be very self centered and downright bossy.

Although it appears above that the winged pullet is being all sweet giving her friends the "Araucana sisters" a group hug;... she's really being an olde cow. She wants front and center and is straddling the pullet under her; who was actually there first.

"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings and you were not willing."

Holykisses xoxo
Lea

I would hate to have to count how many times the Lord has wanted to gather me under His wings, "and I would not." I am just so stubborn and bull headed, and think I can take care of myself --- and everybody else, too! I just love this picture, Lea. Fighting for the top rung on the ladder! Don't we all!!!????

Yes we do Cora and how often we're willing to step on others to get there.

Good post, Lea - thanks for your kind comments on my blog about my friend who lost her daughter. Your prayers are much coveted and much appreciated. I'm passing your words along. Thank you...

Thanks for the Scripture picture, Lea ;) :)

Oh, not nice of that one chicken to hover over the pullets like that ;( :( Well, it looks like that place is a popular hangout :) :)

Have a great day :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

YA know I am thinking about this. We are taught to be self sufficent, responsible, strong. At least that is what the world, and our families teach us, but God's desire is just the opposite. To lean on him for THE way. No ladders involved.
