Song in My Heart

Greetings and Holykisses,

I'm taking a little break to cool down from working outdoors, so thought I'd share my day with you so far....

I've been hauling an olde pile of used hay that we cleaned out of our barn, to use as mulch for our tomatoes. This hay was tromped on by our goat Lydia so it's full of manure and has been resting in a huge pile out in front of the barn. Before I started, I had to mow all around it so I wouldn't get ate up by chiggers in the process. As I made one turn with the mower, bunnies went running all over. I don't think I actually hit any, but this cute lil booger jumped under an area of hay. I had to get off the mower and get some bunny kisses before turning him loose again. Ya know; it's not just everyday you get to get a bunny kiss from Peter rabbit. Thanks God for this little encounter!

Then I popped my earbuds in and started jamming to Point of Grace while pitchforking manure into the bed of Myguy's work truck. I've had these songs in my Ipod for so long but never really listened to the words of this one particular song. I found it on the playlist and added it first up, but the ones who are singing it there, don't sound like they're really Point of Grace. You can listen to the words though. The song is called: Heal the Wounds. I think you'll have to click the little play button now.

So here I am, knee deep in manure and rotted hay. I even had goat "berries" falling into my slogger shoes. Hot, sweaty, dirty... but enjoying the beautiful sunshine and praising the Lord in my heart. And the Holy Spirit started just raining on me through this song!
When I heard these lyrics: "I have not lived a life that boasts of anything
I don't take pride in what I bring
But I'll build an altar with
The rubble that You've found me in
And every stone will sing
Of what You can redeem" -- well; .... I'm thankful... I won't go on... just listen to the words. I think it will speak to one of you as well.
I used to wish that I could rewrite history
I used to dream that each mistake could be erased
Then I could just pretend
I never knew the me back then

I used to pray that You would take this shame away
Hide all the evidence of who I've been
But it's the memory of
The place You brought me from
That keeps me on my knees
And even though I'm free

Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

I have not lived a life that boasts of anything
I don't take pride in what I bring
But I'll build an altar with
The rubble that You've found me in
And every stone will sing
Of what You can redeem

Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

Don't let me forget
Everything You've done for me
Don't let me forget
The beauty in the suffering

Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar.

Holykisses everyone.
Lea

I can only say thank you for that song!!! I'm sitting here at the end of a day of struggles and this just . . . well, like you said, it washed over me. I still have my stones, and I've often wished I had no scars, but they are such reminders of His mercy and grace!!!!! I'll keep those, too!

OH, I'm surprised that little rabbit let you catch it :) :) It's so cute :) :) It look slike a cross between a rabbit and squirrel. Just adorable little thing :) :)

Oh, chiggers? I've heard of chiggers..never seen onee, though. What are they? From the way people talk about them, they're not nice. When I hear the word I think of a big, fat, chubby slimy worm...yuck :( I'm glad your life was spared from chiggers :) :)

Glad you had a good day and were able to listen to some awesome music :) :)

Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
