Oh Glorious Day

Greetings and Holykisses,

First part of Genesis 3:8 "And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:"-- I love that! I know many of you know the second part of 3:8 where Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of God. Let's go with that another day. Today, let's just go to the garden and meet with Him there. Listen for His voice!

It's a wonderful Monday.
Some of you have already read that the little boy we've been praying for came through his "new heart" surgery just wonderful! I'm so happy for them! I can only imagine what his Mommy and Daddy have been going through. Having sons of my own; you can't help but put yourself in their place and "imagine." -- They will continue to be on my heart and I know many of you as well. I've been thanking God all morning and will let you know how he's doing as the days go on.

I went out to my garden this morning and as you can see above, the "glads" have started blooming! Gladiolas and poppies are actually my birth flowers. Have you looked up yours?! I think the one pictured above is an unusual shade of coral and really like splashes of apricot, and corals in my garden!

You prolly think I'm nuts but I have a thing for "squarsh blossoms" too. I'm practicing calling them "squarsh" coz my friend Maxi does. She warshes her clothes too. lol But anyways, the "squarsh" are doing fabulous! So far the squarsh bugs aren't too outta hand either. (I had to throw that in so's I could say squarsh again.)

Below the squarsh, is some butterfly weed I dug up a year ago in our back pasture. It seems to love it's new home in the garden, and I put a homemade wire tomato cage around it to help protect it from the wild woman who tills around here. ;D I think it seems to like rusty wire don't you?

Notice the Siamese Tomcat is still visiting. Is he visiting or ... staying? He sure is here alot!
Haven't told yall yet but I'm a little miffed. Some of you know the cat Merry Pearl who showed up here well over a year ago? I took her in and the two of us became good friends. What I haven't mentioned is Merry Pearl bit me recently... pretty bad! I was carrying her around the back of the house like I'd done a hundred times before. I had her turned over on her back and had my hand across her chest rubbing her like she "normally liked." Usually she purrs like crazy and loves to be held and cuddled. -- I never seen it even coming... but she reached down and grabbed my hand and sunk all four fangs so deep into my hand and held on. I finally dropped her and her weight falling made her release. It hurt so much. And it bled alot! I still cannot believe it. I refuse to touch her anymore. She bit me so viciously. My son Trent doctored me up; bless his heart. He poured peroxide in the punctures and then used a q tip to push Neosporin down in the holes. It healed really well and never got infected thank God. We're waiting now to make sure she isn't sick.* After that-- adios ScaryMerryPearl!
Have any of you been bitten like that before? I didn't think she had that in her? She's always been sweet and loving.

Some of you have asked me about my chickens. Here are a few of the babies I ordered this Spring. They've grown so much! The ones on the left are Banties and are really little. While I was in the barn today, one made a goofy noise and I realized it was an attempt to crow! So of course I started crowing back to him and before you know it he did it again and again. It's the funniest crowwww I've ever heard. -- The chickens on the right of this photo are our new Araucana's! Oh how I love them! They have the cutest bearded little faces and I can't wait to start getting blue and green eggs again! Gotta love those green legs! My lil green legs n hams.
I know I promised to share more of my soul journal... but I'm not far enough along to show you more "yet". I've gotten a few emails asking questions about journaling and it seems there's alot of interest in that! I so understand because I absolutely love it! Although I don't have many pictures under the soul journal tab yet, you can scroll to the bottom of my blog and find the label for "crafts" and there are a few more pictures there. Please be just a little more patient with me. I know I've been slow as molasses!

Okay as you can see I have weeding to do.
You know it's pretty bad when the frog starts playin to that tune!
Have a blessed day!
Holykisses xoxo
Lea

Oooooooooh. That scratch/bite sounds awful! I'm glad it's healing up.

I didn't go back "up" to read, but did you mention if you EAT the squarsh blossoms or just like to look at them????

Hope your week is a pleasant one. I have lots on my plate. I look forward to it all, though...
