Mumday

Greetings and Holykisses,

I haven't made it to the potting shed and was delighted to turn it on this morning and see your comments, emails and cute pictures on the slider! Yall just make my days so happy! Thank you for sharing your hearts n lives with me!!

Last Friday, Myguy and I snuck away to NW Arkansas, to the War Eagle Craft Fair. Yes, you heard me right; Myguy accompanied me! Shocker; I know....!!!!!! (He's gotta love me to do that.) I can't help but think it has to be on the same level as going to a fabric store for him... only this cost him in more ways than one. haha -Not only the cost of going, but his big sneakers put on many miles!

I tried to take pictures; I really did. Only a couple turned out at all. It was so crowded that all my shots had people in them -by that I mean up close n too personal. And vendors don't take kindly to cameras in most instances so mine stayed in my purse by the time we got to the tents and booths. But ....Ohhhh for the crafts! As usual; it was incredible. The talents God places in people is just awesome!!

We walked for miles that day. They redid the bridge that you cross over, and they made us cross in intervals because of the traffic. Yall it looked like a mass Exodus when we were leaving!!! When you get to the other side; where you park, you have to walk up a fairly steep hill to find your vehicle. I was thankful I've been exercising a lot lately because I was really huffin n puffing by the time we got to the top! Yes, a few, fun goodies did find their way to our trunk; the cutest teddy bear, a primitive wool candle mat, and some putka pods for a friend. After that, we splurged on our diets and dined at the Outback. By this time; Myguy was seriously needing some meat!!! Not the paper thin slices of turkey on diet bread samiches, baked chips, and 100 calorie pack cookies, we packed for our lunch. We're both still aways away from our goals so we didn't eat one thing at War Eagle. It was sheer temptation too. I'm tellin ya; thee aroma alone of those fried turkey legs at the craft fair nearly did my dear Husband in! Thankfully you can actually eat fairly healthy at the Outback if you want to. We did! The best part of all was our son Tony lives up there, so he and his girlfriend met us for supper! We get to missing him so badly; so it was a wonderful end to a beautiful day!!! His girlfriend is a real sweet heart too!

Then Saturday night, we went to the races at Centerville. We didn't take the race truck.... - it's actually broke down and will be in the shop through Winter. -But the races were really good that night!! I have come to surmise however; the fragrance of roasted tire smoke in the air; reinfects Myguy with "the racebug" As the night wore on, I could plainly see the symptoms in his red eyes. I just know he'll be ordering parts for his truck this week. :D You can't be married to someone for 27 years and not notice these kinds of things.

Sunday at church, our message was from the book of Colossians. The key verse that stood out to me was "set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Col 3:2 As I sat and listened, I couldn't help but think how Friday my day was all about going to the craft fair... and Saturday our day was all about going to the races that night. Now don't get me wrong; I'm not sayin we aren't to enjoy life; but God dealt with my heart reminding me to invest more time with Him than things on earth. That Friday, because I was so excited to go to War Eagle, I never even cracked my bible open. And typically, spending time with God is how I now begin my day. But not Friday. I had other stuff on my mind.

As I sat in church and began to see this; .... I didn't feel condemned. Instead; I just felt loved. My Father was whispering this truth to my heart because He loves me. Lately; my bible study has been in No Other gods, and God used that too to remind me how easy it is for me to make idols out of things I like to do, if I'm not careful. -He wants to be first in our lives. -- How easy it is for me to get distracted or caught up in other stuff first.

And so... that's what our weekend was like.
Thankfully, today is a new day.
Or Mumday; snapping a pic of the bronze "mums" on the porch.
Can you believe the month of October is half over already?
Time just flies. Maybe that's why God's correcting me in love to invest my time more wisely with Him.

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

Holykisses,
L

I love, love, love your new photo header for your blog. Your hair cut, is super cute.

Now...I also appreciated that in Colossians, you were not feeling condemned but instead of loved by your Father. PRECIOUS!

You encourage me so----

Lovingly,
Yolanda

Lea, I love this statement you made:

I'm not sayin we aren't to enjoy life; but God dealt with my heart reminding me to invest more time with Him than things on earth.

Thanks for the gentle reminder. I want to glorify Christ in all I do and have HIM ozing from my heart!

Luv ya! Blessings, Heidi

I am in agreement with all the other comments that your blogger header is nice. I also like that you recognized the Lords reminder was not condemnation but a gentle teaching with love.

Lea, you were soooo close to my house when you were at the craft fair!!! I live 11 miles back towards Rogers off Highway 12, really! It was crowded and I did take pictures, haven't had a minute to download them. My daughter Stephanie and I went on Friday and enjoyed the beef wellingtons...they were so yummy! God provided a beautiful weekend for the fair, we often have rainy weather and it's a mess. Your thoughts and the meditations of your heart are so meaningful to this post.
