The Shabby Olde Hatching Shed

Greetings dear friends!
Dontchya just love surprises?!

You have no idea how hard it has been to stay out of the potting shed as much as I possibly could. It seemed every time I walked through the door, I'd freak out Momma Wren and she'd flit around like a crazed Mother. (takes one to know one) Anyways, I've been trying to keep up with the days, and couldn't take it anymore. Peeking into the basket.......
was a joyful surprise. I think you can click the picture to get a better look at them but this was the best I could do without disturbing them too much. How exciting! Once again, the shabby olde potting shed has been a birthing room. (Remember Gracie had 8 puppies on the floor in there as well!)

Walking to the hydrant last night to turn on the sprinkler, I saw two other baby birds trying to to fly next to the side of the shed. They probably hatched in the ivy that grows all over the backside making it one huge birdnest. -- Ya know; it doesn't matter if it's watching a calf be born, or a colt, ... a litter of kittens, puppies, or even newly hatched chicks or baby birds; I never tire of seeing new life!

On the flipside, you have no idea how hard it's been with these new babies around, trying to keep Merry Pearl away! Where I go; Merry Pearl is sure to follow. So now when I go outdoors; I find myself looking to see where she is, and then trying to dodge her; so I can sneak off to the garden without her. She really is a mighty hunter. She's drug up a rat... (I don't think it was Templeton), birds, and mice. I just know she would love to discover the nest of babies. Maybe the high temperatures will keep her on the porch!?

Our Ruth study is tonight and so far everything is on schedule! Even managed to get ice cream home from the store without melting too much. (104-105 today!) I decided to not heat up the house baking something for the gals, so we'll be making banana splits instead!

I know some of you have been doing this study as well. Our group will be discussing Chapter 5 tonight: Redemption! I thought my favorite part of the week was about "spoken blessings." But I keep thinking about my "willingness." To be a kinsmen reedemer; we learned that one must be near of kin, able to redeem, and willing to redeem. Boaz was willing. Jesus was willing. But Lea's not always so willing. What if Jesus had been unwilling?

Time to go put in my earbuds, crank up the praise and tidy up.
Can't wait for the gals to get here this evening and share what they've learned this week and hear what God's been doing in their lives. Sweet fellowship! I can hardly believe we only have one more week left!

Have a great day.
Sweet Blessings this beautiful, steamy hot day!
Holykisses xoxo
Lea

Thanks for sharing, The girls and I had found a nest too, first the eggs, then watched them hatch, then sadly something got to them. One day they were gone and the nest was on the ground. :-( So sad. I love seeing new life, new beginnings. Have a wonderful evening.
Blessings,
Jill

I worry about the wildlife with this heatwave and lack of rain, so it's nice to see some new life thriving! It was great to see your post today too, they make my day! Hugs!!

New life, that resonated with-in my heart.

But your thoughts on willingness has been running through my own heart for two weeks now...am I willing to be willing? I say that I am with my lips, but what about my heart? What about my actions?

What if Ruth hadn't been willing to be willing? That really stirred our conversation here around my table with the girls last night. (Check it out at Joy Comes In The Morning).

Love YOU!

It all sounds great. We have a blue bird house that produced some new blue birds, then the English Sparrows took over and it was so interesting watching them take twigs and things out of the house and putting pieces of paper and grass in. We also have some gold finch and hummingbirds finally came the first of this month. They are all about to eat us out of house and home. It's been fun watching them.

Have a blessed night with your study of Ruth.

What a sweet post!!! I love baby birds. We had a nest near our front door. I hated to see it empty and baby birds gone away.
Please stop by Grace soon.

So good go catch up a little bit...read through your last several posts. I'm with you...there is nothing like new life. Those birds are precious! Boy it IS HOT in your neck of the woods. It's been a little better here this week...high 80's/low 90's. It's been a welcome change, I'll tell ya! Love & miss you, sweet friend. ((Hugs!))

I enjoyed seeing your new life in the potting shed. God was so wise making baby's so cute in all the species. It was meant for preservation and our enjoyment. Hearing about your Bible study made me miss mine...we start up again in September. Willingness is a very key factor in our Christian life. Have a blessed week. Dee

Awwww.... baby birdies! I love them! Those little wrens build their nests in some crazy places- Hubby found one yesterday in his hay baler! (It was empty, thank goodness...)
Hope you're staying cool, dear one- I know you're having the same heat wave we are!

I never tire of seeing new life either, Lea! :) I just love the picture of the nest and wee birds in it!!! So incredibly sweet!

I hope you aren't too miserable in that heat. Do you have central air? I have a hard enough time, here in PA, with the temps in the high 80's! The humidity about clobbers me! I hope you are comfy and joyful, my friend! Big hugs!

Hey my lieb! I've been missing you. In fact, while I was weeding my flower beds this morning, I was thinking about you and stopped to say a little prayer for my friend at the Shabby Olde Potting Shed.

Oh! Lea, How I have missed you this summer!! What a treat to have these cuties in your potting shed.
I read some of your previous posts and was so blessed,as I am trying to catch-up. Oh I wish I lived nearby I would so loved to have been part of your Ruth study sitting with you and listening to what the Lord had showed you to share.
We have been under a heat wave since June. Hope it cools for all of us soon.
Hugs,
Sue
