My Morning Reads...

Greetings and holykisses,

Mornin everyone!
This was the scene at my table this morning. --

Reading thru the bible has me now in Joshua and brought me to my memory verse: Joshua 1:9
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy GOD is with thee whithersoever thou goest." This memory verse has been written smack- dab- in -the -middle of the tablet of my heart.
I love the command.
Be strong.
Of a good COURAGE!
Be not afraid!
Neither be dismayed- (disheartened, or depressed)
Why? Coz God is with you.... wherever..... WHEREVER you go!!!

I'd love to just stay in Joshua for awhile. But... it's time to cross over this Jordan! :)
After I read my verse out of my KJV, ... I grabbed my Message bible to read the intro of Joshua to get a better understanding once again and set the stage. It really helps me starting a new book to read those and something within it ... stood out today. It said, "God's great love and purposes for us are worked out in the messes, storms and sins, blue skies, daily work and dreams of our common lives, working with us as we are and not as we should be." -- as is!!
I share that today because maybe there's someone out there that needed that reminder like me.

In the No Other God's book, I've been reading and learning about "Personal Pharaohs" in my life. This was definite conviction time, followed by a few yahoos! This lesson brought me back into the book of Exodus with the children of Israel in captivity. Captivity that wasn't their fault. Then it went on to creating our own gods. This was the squirming part for me. Probably no one likes to think of themselves creating or serving other gods. But I identified a few this morning and it it's not a pretty list and it was also somewhat surprising. I might share a few in the days to come. (well; maybe) :)

Yesterday's Love Dare challenge went well, and brought verses to my mind throughout the day. It was about not saying negative things to your spouse. Myguy and I have not been ones to lash out with name calling or put downs in our marriage but I'd be lying if I said I'd never been a naggin wife. Proverbs 18:21 says the tongue has the power of life and death, and I want my words to be encouragement, and blessing to him. Besides;.... we know what the word says about a naggin wife! "Better to live on a corner of the roof
than share a house with a quarrelsome wife." Eeeeek!

Today's dare from the Love Dare book is to again not say anything negative and to also do an act of kindness. Wooo, two days in a row not saying ANYthing negative. ;) That one is pretty easy for me, but I want to think of something extra special to do for him . Lately I've been running down and starting his big diesel truck and pulling it up in front of the house so it's "chilling" when he leaves to work. I can tell he LOVES that. Especially since it's been so hot out. But today I want to think of something that WOWS him. I better scoot because tonight the gals are coming over for our first meeting of "Women of the Bible," and there's much to do.

-- almost forgot to tell you, as some of you have asked... yesterday I got all my stitches out!
Hotdiggitydog! Now to wait, heal and grow new bone.

Have a SWEET day!
Holykisses xoxo
