So Thankful This Day.....

Greetings and Holykisses,

Psalm 145:4 says, "One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts."

Long ago, I'd joined a meme called "Thankful Thursday." I know we're to be thankful every day, but participating in the meme taught me something valuable. Taking the time to sit and think of all the ways God blesses me, also blesses me by doing something inside of me. You see it didn't matter what was going on around me. Circumstances could have been awful in the moment, but taking the time to write my many blessings helped me to focus higher. And in doing so, I'd realize just how blessed I was inspite of anything and everything I would ever go through. I could even be in a rotten mood when I first started writing them but before I'd finish; that mood would lift. My very countenance would change.

There was a limit of how many random blessings to write in the meme, and I often went over. So in time, .... I left the meme and would often just do it on my own. Journaling is important to me, and re-reading my private journal helps me take notice of answered prayers, miracles, victories,... and also things I need to keep praying about.

Today, I share a few blessings in my life and on my heart.

Thankyou Father for teaching me this week that when I pray: to pray using the name, "Father,"
(Luke 11:2)
Thankyou for touching my loved ones with your healing touch.
Thankyou for flooding my mind with thoughts of You, and bringing amazing things across my path to help me see You.
Thankyou for your word. For helping me read through Exodus with fresh eyes, and helping me understand things I'd missed before.
Thankyou for reminding me of Your Holiness, and convicting me to behave holy.
Thankyou for giving me a husband I just love to be with, and for giving him wise words that helped me.
Thankyou for reminding me to be submissive to him when so many women of the world around me don't- their own.
Thankyou for reminding me that "As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord." Thank you for telling me to not be swayed by sin, nor be a tool for others to be allowed to sin in my house.
I serve You, not man.
Thankyou for giving me courage to stand, even if I must stand alone.
Thankyou for helping me to love my enemies. It's so not like me,...... and so very You.
Thankyou for teaching me to be a better keeper of home. I've gotten sloppy and my priorities out of order.
Thankyou for study tools you've blessed me with. I enjoy my ipod and receiving the gospel over and over while I keep my hands busy.
Thankyou for sons I adore. I know they're in Your hands. Have your way with them.
Thankyou for a new great nephew and for keeping him in your care.
Thankyou for friends and for using someone to teach me that there are essentially three kinds: Those that pull me along, those that pull me uP to You, and those that pull me down. Please help me to be one who lifts others uP, and pulls people along, rather than ever down.
Thankyou for Your instruction on gossip and the power of our words; that my words either bless or curse. Keep my tongue from evil. May I bless others with my tongue and not tear them down.
Thankyou for protecting my family while drag racing.
Thankyou for protecting me from yet another snake on my path while walking yesterday.
Thankyou for helping me find Francoise after he'd gotten in the fishpond, and for keeping my little buddy from drowning.
Thankyou for our air conditioned home, for our garden with colorful flowers that give me great joy, and for the tomatoes on my plate.
Thankyou for helping our son find a nice place to live and for letting him keep his dog.
Thankyou for friends and those blessings in my mailbox.
Thankyou for all these things and so very much more.
My cup overflows.
Thank you Father,
Most High God.

John 21:25 "Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written."

That is a great post of "thank you's" to the Father. We should all do that, especially me. I was a part of a meme like that once but the person leading it stopped and I stopped also. God knows my heart though and knows how much I love Him and thank Him for all He has done for me, and my family.

Blessing, AE

You are my soul sister! I loved your list and for the same reasons, I keep a prayer journal, a happiness journal and others, but the first two are life savers! God is good and so awesome! I thank him for sending you my way via the internet!

Lea, Your thankful list just blessed me so, and thanking God for how you inspire not only me but so many here in blogland. I always leave here encouraged, and challenged to become more like Him. You Dear One are truly a woman after God's own heart.

Hi, Lea - just ketchin' up on my readin'. Being thankful is SO important! We should give thanks every single day! It's good to have that special Thursday each week to go the extra mile.

I have been poring over your beautiful garden. I love your perennials and am trying to get some to take hold in my garden and around the yard. I haven't been able to find purple coneflowers except at one garden here. I'm still lookin' for those. I'm lookin' for some of that fencing, too. Just haven't run across it yet. You've done such a beautiful job with your gardens, Lea! I just love them!

Oh, Lea,

Returning from my "retreat" to read this post just added another day of retreat for me! I echo SO many of them. I especially am thankful for my husband. Absence DID make my heart grow even fonder! Wish you lived next door to me. Wish I could help you make up your mind about which Bible study to do next. Lately, I have just been so blessed reading through Scripture slowly and journalling the thoughts and directions I receive from it. The Holy Spirit is such a Teacher! (But I know how published studies can also bring out some things that a person might overlook....)
