Ruth Is On The Way!

Greetings and Holykisses,

I just deleted three draft posts that I never got around to finishing. I'm so sorry... -- don't know why I'm having trouble getting a blog on.* I think part of the reason I've not been blogging is I've been reading and studying instead.

I'm still in Leviticus; the book that I once put my bible back down and closed it because I struggled getting through it. This time though, I'm seeing a few new things that I didn't get before. It's still hard reading for me, but I think God's showing me some new things.
All those sacrifices, and the specifics in doing them... wave offerings, and sprinkling blood here and there...* Just imagine...... Think of all the people, and all the sin. Different sins, uncleanliness, issues, meant different types of animals sacrificed. Think of the time it took to just gather up those animals and walk them to the tabernacle. I know how hard it can be to get one ornery cow to go into a pen and then load it into a stock trailer. These people herded them on foot. -And the sacrifices...just think of all that blood. My husband has worked at a rendering plant for years and with all the love in my heart, he has quite a smell about him when he gets home,- and is always ready to wash! (Yall know I mean that respectfully. If you've even lived around a plant like that; then you know what I mean.) So I can't but help to imagine what it was all really like then.

What stands out to me more than anything is: obedience? Doing what God said to do, and the discipline to then do it and carry it through to completion. Knowing I lack some discipline in my walk in faith, .... has me more mindful of that fact, after reading in Leviticus. I can't tell you how thankful I am that Jesus came and died for my sins and that we're no longer under the law as it was then. Thankyou Jesus for shedding your blood for us.

Many of you wrote me about your bible studies and I thank you so much for sharing the ones you've done. I finally decided on Ruth by Kelly Minter. I know some of you will be doing it along with me and I'm so excited!! I love the story of Ruth, and pray the Lord shows us many new things through this amazing woman that we can apply to our lives today.

I ordered my copy of Ruth at Lifeway but was told you can also order it through Kelly's website. Just wanted to let you know in case any of you want to get it for your summer study.

I stopped at one of our local christian bookstores first to see if they could order Ruth for me. They said they couldn't since it was through Lifeway but while I was there I found the coolest book on AW Tozer. I've been so drawn to his writings and was going to buy this book, but it was really expensive. Knowing I still had bible studies to order, I put it back on the shelf. On my way home, I stopped off at the vintage book store, and was soooo blessed! I found two inexpensive books on Tozer, another on Titus and still another with St Augustine! My summer reading is ever growing!!!

I hope yall have a great day!
I'm out the door to mow and listen to the book of John.
Holykisses xoxo

Lea...Leviticus is hard, I've never really given it my full attention but, as always, you have inspired me. I'm studying Luke which I absolutely love. I am also a fan of A.W. Tozer's work and have many of his titles if you ever want to borrow any...be forewarned, they are pretty well marked up, he had so much wisdom to share. Love to you my lovely friend!

I'm on day 10 of Purpose Filled Life by Rick Warren. It is really good. I have a hard time retaining everything but there's a lot about worship which has been really good since One Heart started WOW.

I'm glad to hear from you. Arkansas was in the news about having bad storms and since I didn't know what part you lived in I prayed for you any way.

Have a blessed evening, AE
