Welcome Friends, Welcome Toads

Greetings and holykisses,

Once again, storms rolled over Arkansas last night. The weather has been so strange. Yesterday it was chilly all day long and it didn't even feel like tornadoes. But things can change quickly.

This morning, it's warm and beautiful.
I took my camera outdoors when I did all the chores and inspected my flowers.

One of the toads was outside of her abode: Big Daddy's ole work boots. We have two toads that live in them now. Both, live in one boot...- not separately. Kinda cute huh? I was going to reach in and take a picture of the other one but I try not to bother them too much.
This one's a chunk isn't she? I'd say she's definitely getting enough to eat, or else she's fixin to calve any day now. ;)
Myguy helped me get a water garden started over the weekend. I've never had one before other than our goldfish/koi pond that the puddleducks have taken over.

Hopefully, this little water garden will be safe. They can't get in it, but could definitely mess it up if they find it. (Let's hope they don't find it.) If they do; there may be a "FREE PUDDLE DUCKS" sign at thee end of our driveway.

I planted two water lilies and another plant that I cannot for the life of me remember the name.
And... still haven't decided what to do with the rebar that the faucet is attached to? Bend it and hang something from it...., attach a flag to it, .... or cut it off at the faucet so it doesn't show at all? Time will tell; but I didn't want to cut if off until I was sure.
Surely, the hose will be covered by morning glories soon don't you think?

If you water garden please drop me a line. I'd love to know what you grow!
Happy gardening,
Lea

I saw those storms...my friend Cindy had to hit her cellar! Love your chunky little toad. The toads and flowers seem quite happy in his old boots.

Hey, is that a bit of white picket fence I see?! lol

Never had a water garden. Hubby has always wanted one, but it has never happened. What to do with that rod...hmmm.

I get the biggest kick out of those toads living in his shoes! So cute. I have to agree...she's getting a bit chunky! Anxious to see how your water garden does. = )

I am so thankful that ya'll are alright. Your water garden is so cool and I didn't even notice the rebar. I think your guy's boots are my faves!

Good to know you are all okay, I heard and saw the news today how quickly it hit. Prayers to all that have been effective by this.

I so love the boots you have of your father.

Peace from God be with you all.

Never had a water garden, but I have cut back plants in the house and put the leaves in a vase. The grow roots but that about all. Looks good any way.
