A Little Of This n That

Greetings and Holykisses,

Think I said I was over-planted, and yet I keep looking for more containers that will hold dirt and plants. Myguy got new boots thee other day. I didn't think he'd miss his old ones. You don't do ya honey, coz they sorta have their charm out on the porch now. lol And as you see; these are the lipstick pink impatiens I thought I had to have. :)
The bleeding heart is also pretty in pink these days.
This morning I loaded up the clothesline. Oh how I love a windy day!
See thee orange dress on the front line? Sure hope it fits; coz I got it for a buck fifty yesterday! If it does, I'll have a new dress to wear to church on Sunday! (well; new to me!)
This is our row of blackberries. Miss Margie at church gave me a start of them a few years ago and they've spread to this! Do yall like blackberry cobbler?
Last year I planted a couple red raspberry canes on the backside of the blackberries and look at all these babies! Suckers everywhere! I've been adding Mrs. Potters bunnyberrys to the mulch and I'm starting to wonder if we should find her a husband so we'll have even more free fertilizer. lol ~Now, I can just hear some of you logical people sayin, "Well, you have to pay for feed for those bunnies, so it's not really free." Tis true, but they don't eat all that much, and they sure are fun to play with!
My friend Maxi gave me the chocolate mint that's in the green planter last year and it's come back like crazy! It really does smell like chocolate! Bet it would make some wonderful tea. ?? If any of you have tried it, please let me know. I'm not sure what can be done with it.
This was our first bouquet of lilacs this spring.

I had dug up a little lilac sucker at my Dad's a few years ago and this bush is now loaded! Wish yall could smell it! Even Francoise likes it!
The peony BED is fixin to bloom!
And if you squint, you can see a little fence in front of the pond. We planted a weeping willow in memory of my Momma, but the donkeys ate most of it. Happily, it's come back to life and we're hoping they can't reach it anymore.
These are three calves we're weaning.
Enlarge the picture and look at all the birds perched on the rail. lol
We usually sell the bull calves and keep the heifers. Sheww thankfully these are heifers. Bigdaddy said we have to sell one cow and I'm glad it's a cow that hasn't calved in awhile, instead of any one of these. Since we get to keep them, I named em. ;) The one on the left is Peninah, the solid black one is Matilda and the little one on the right is Hepsibah. I told Myguy and then had a quiz... and he couldn't remember any of them. I see we're gonna have to work on that.*
The peony plants I transplanted from my Mommas are doing so well, and are fixin to bloom! This one is kinda tall n lanky but it's okay... surely they'll keep filling out in time. Can't tell you how happy it makes me that I'll be able to take these blooms to put on her grave. There is a frost warning tonight though. In just abit I'll be outdoors making tents for these out of old sheets, and covering the tomatoes as well. Everything else should be okay.
Look at this one! Yes, it's one of hers! It'll pop anyday! Thank you Lord for taking care of these special plants that mean so much. I'm so grateful.
I'm thankful for these two clowns too.
Oooh I forgot to take a closeup picture of the cross on their backs.
I'll do it this afternoon for you.
Also very thankful that the barn is now all cleaned out. Myguy used the tractor to get the bigstuff, and then I raked it all and got the black gold for the garden.
We have some fixin to do now that it's all cleaned out. Okay; a lot of fixing. --Lydia the goat rubs on the chicken wire so bad, that we nailed the boards up on the little pens and she pushed so hard on one, that the door broke. Lydia!!!!! She can be so "onree." (That's how we say it in these parts.) Anyways, she loves to rub her back along the poultry wire. It must be a wonderful back scratcher... I might have to try it sometime!
Here are the lil chicklets.
The two with stripes on their heads are baby guineas. Percy the grown guinea is not gonna know what to think, when I tell him there are two more of his kind here. I'm pretty sure he thinks he's a chicken.

As for studying the Word, tomorrow, I start Genesis all over. I hope to see many new things again. It took me one year, 3 months and 8 days to read through the bible. This morning as I read in Revelation,... I didn't want it to end. ---I so loved reading the description of the new Jerusalem. I imagined those walls with all those jewels. "And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The sixth sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl, the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it. and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. " Revelation 21: 18-24 My favorite part was that there is no temple there because God and the Lamb are the temple. God's glory will light it! Ahhhhh... that just gets me, doesn't it you?

Better stop here. I need to get those clothes off the line, and tell the peonies they get to go camping tonight and get to sleep in tents.
Hope you're havin a wonderful day!

Good day to you Lea, Your garden is so much ahead of ours here. Peonies are surely my favorite and one can never have too many of them, I love the way they smell. I wished I lived close enough to visit the farm in spring, something being born everyday! My favorite part of that scripture is "there is no need for the light of the sun or the moon because the glory of the Lord provides the light " hallelujah!! God is so Good! Blessings Meg

I'm guessing you are maybe 2 or 3 weeks ahead of us springwise...
but I found my Bleeding Heart I thought was GONE is here in full glory :)
You have a nice barn! And are you on family property? Generations in the family?
Peonies are my absolute favorite...next to Hydrangeas and impatiens and roses and lavender and lambs ears and curly willow and dogwoods and chocolate.

Oh, how I wish we lived closer together. I would love to see your place in full bloom. Impatiens have always been my favorite. We planted them one year in the tiny little space in front of our apartment.

My husband says that now that he has closed his store to can move anywhere but I don't want to get to far away from my girls and grandchildren, besides we've been in this apartment almost 20 years. It has become home.

I started reading the Bible through last year and I'm nowhere near the end. It will probably take the rest of this year. I'm a slow reader. The emerald is my birthstone but would you believe I don't like green.

Have a blessed day.
Love you, AE
