Where's Your Treasure?

Happy Word Filled Wednesday,

This is a picture of thee inside of my little garden cart. Gettin pretty sad isn't it?
Over the weekend it hauled several more loads of debris to the burn pile. That is; until I realized, more was fallin out the bottom than staying inside. I finally rolled it to the shop, and parked it. Hubby came out and kinda shook his head when I asked him if he would please fix it. Instead, he bought me a new one at the farm store Sunday afternoon. Both are now parked out back. But the rusted out one... served yet one more purpose: poster child for today's scripture picture.
My step Dad knows I like old things and brought this home for me when he worked at a recycle place. As much as I've enjoyed and "used" this ole cart, it's a good reminder that all things come to an end.................................eventually.
Lately, there's been a lot of wishful thinking going on inside my garden book. ~ Apart from lists for more seed and plants , are lists of things I want to buy or make to add to this space that delights me so. A bird bath, a butterfly house, and a little table and chair. But- truth is... flowers fade, grass withers, wood rots, garden books fall apart,
and rust eats away at even the most charming of tools.
My real treasure's not found in any of these things at all, and can never be taken away.

"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6:20

Where's your treasure?

You are a treasure dear friend! Love your way with words, and I feel the same way about rusty things, plant some pretty flowers in your old cart and park it by the shabby shed, the meaning will grow with the flowers! Hugs!

Caused me to think of a scripture from two years ago that I memorized Sister.

Isaiah 40:8 NIV

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.

Love YOU!

So very true. We (I) tend to put too much of a focus on stuff of this world that does rot away and need to store my treasures in Heaven. Love the IS verse too that Yolanda mentioned.

Love your old cart...I was gonna say the same thing, put flowers in it! You know, maybe have it spilling over...lots of neat (future) picture stories there just waiting to be written!

It's always fun to get a new garden tool then watch it age with use! What color is the new one?

The word of God is my treasure, and I do my darndest to store it in my heart, and share with those God leads me to.

Since my failing health I have pondered on this scripture many a times! Thank you SO much for posting this today...it (as you usually do) made me shed a few tears! I want to store up ALL MY TREASURES IN HEAVEN by spreading EVERYWHERE the frangrance of the knowledge of HIM here on this earth (2 Cor 2:14 & 15)! I think from now on...I will have a vivid picture in my mind of your rusty ole cart to go with that scripture!

Keep Your Sunnyside UP,
Char
