Keep Lookin UP, Garden Journaling

Greetings and Holykisses!

Our snow is all melting away today, and is almost gone. I just can't help but marvel at the beauty and splendor that our God lavished on us this past week. ~ And yet...at the same time, I realize if we're watching... He's doing it all the time. In fact, I saw Him yesterday in this little bird; who reminded me to keep looking UP! --No matter what! Because GOD is in control of all things, and...
"The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD." Psalm 33:5

I think I've discovered a new joy: birdwatching! Funny too; because so often in the word this past week, I've read about "watching." Being on watch, ...

Most of you know I'm itchin to start planting the garden. Since I can't just yet, I started working on a shabby GARDEN JOURNAL book. -- The pictures that follow; are just a start, but I'm amazed how God shows Himself to me through gardening. Maybe it's because I'm watching and observing all the more? But I see Him everywhere, and He reveals Himself in incredible ways; even through this simple, little book.
This is the cover, using a bare naked binder my Sister gave me a couple years ago. It's now covered with coffee stained fabric, and layers of tattered vintage lace and bits of embroidered pieces.

This is the back. I had an old table cloth, that was full of holes, so I tore the appliques, using the morning glories, and stained crocheted lace.
I've barely got a start inside. But everything points to the MASTER Gardener Himself. --
As the days go on, I hope to fill these pages with soulful insights; and the desires of my shabby heart.
Lots of mismatched pages to record things He gives me. And some, I hope to show you as well.
"O GIVE thanks unto the LORD; call upon His name: make known His deeds among the people. Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him: talk ye of all His wondrous works. Glory ye in His holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD." Psalm 105 1-3

This page is not finished either, but He reminds me where to keep my feet planted. --
"Seek the LORD, and His strength: seek His face evermore. Remember His marvellous works that He hath done; His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth." Psalm 105: 4-5

On this page, I'd journaled my Dragonfly Chronicles. Some of you might remember because I shared this long ago. ~ Anyway, yesterday, I made a page in this book, and journaled all about my AngelMother and what she told me about dragonflies. The picture above shows just a part of my writing.

What tickled me was, yesterday I'd written all about her when she told me she was going to ask God if she could be my guardian angel. And that when she died, her funeral bulletin had Psalm 91 in it, which says, "He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways." Right after journaling all this, when I did my bible study and opened my devotional that's dated February 1st to the very day... it had the same verse in it!
Quoting straight from the book Jesus Calling: " If I do lead you up the cliffs, I will equip you thoroughly for that strenuous climb. I will even give My angels charge over you, to preserve you in all your ways." Keep your mind on the present journey, enjoying My Presence. Walk by faith, not by sight, trusting Me to open up the way before you. "

Is God good or what!!!!!!!!!!!?
Looking uP, and walkin in faith...

Oh I love your garden Journal. You are very creative. Don't you love how God will show you something a couple times, just to make sure you don't miss it.
I'm not much of a gardener, to much arthritis, but I do manage to get some Heavenly Blue morning glories planted along with some Zinnias.

Yes, He is! He is good. Your journal is beautiful, Lea. And I love your little birdies! Is that a carolina wren? or a nuthatch? Just lovely.

I love your journal, you have a gift to turn paper into art! I'm itching to plant too, gardening is my connection to God, my quiet time, tending to my seeds and thoughts. I am closest to God when my hands are deep in the earth, I can't wait! I love bird watching too!

Oh, yes! God is good!!!! I have the gardening bug too. I just ordered my seeds from a company that is new to me. Have you heard of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds? I just fell in love with their catalog and what their company stands for. I'm loving your gardening journal. I did a quick scrapbook many years ago of our garden...the garden that my husband's pappaw and I did together. We took a lot of pictures and the joy in our gardening adventure is written on every page. I had no idea that it would be our last garden together...precious memories. I still garden every year and think of pappaw often.
