Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

Greetings and Holykisses,
I'm joining Sonya this evening at Truth 4 The Journey, in counting my blessings.
I was going to just go about my evening and skip it again this week, but decided to STOP... and give God the praise He so deserves. ~ I've been kinda caught up in my own feelings the last couple days and I know the best way to snap out of that is to put my praise on. So; refocusing... here are my 5 random BLESSINGS:

1. I'm thankful for the sacrifice Jesus paid for me.

2. I'm thankful that the ice storm basically missed us last night. We haven't put the
woodstove back in the house yet, since we put the new laminate floor down, and I kept
thinking "what are we gonna do if we lose power?" -- As usual, God had it covered.
Now maybe in the next day or two, we can get the stove put back in.

3. I'm thankful to have had such a good friend for ten years. Today, I had
a lil talk with Abe's two youngins. I took em for a little ride in my
truck, and told them I'm sorry I treated them second rate for three years.
Neither of them threw up in the cab, (thank goodness) ... and
I'm thankful part of Abe lives on through them. I've always loved
them but I haven't put the time in them that they deserve. I'm ready
to change that now.

4. I'm thankful for self control and that I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me. I've been trying to lose the extra
weight I put on through Christmas, and the Lord's helping me conquer temptations. Tonight
I made hotdogs and mac n cheese for supper. Not just any macaroni and cheese but Velveeta
shells and cheese Ohmygosh. All for Myguy- because this girl ate not one
noodle. He ate the regular hotdogs , and I rediscovered fatfree hotdogs. I know some of you will write me now and
try to tell me what they're made of... but I'm not listening!!! (I can't hear you!!!) I started
to grab the ketchup, and put that down too and reached for mustard instead.
No potato chips passed through these lips. My crunch factor was found in
the most wonderful jar of dill hamburger sliced pickles. Mmm! My God
is so faithful... and even helped me pass up the huge bowl I wanted of Velveeta shells n cheese. No temptation
has seized me, except what is common to man. And God is faithful, He will
not let me be tempted beyond what I can bear. And when I am tempted,
He'll provide a way out.. so I can stand up under it.
With His help tonight, I stood up under all that gooey cheese.

Thankyou Lord Jesus!

5. Last but not least... today, I stopped by the thrift and to my delight found the very
Pink ice cream scoop in the photograph. Thankyou Lord for giving me little desires
of my heart like this. I know ice cream is not on the menu for awhile but I can't wait to use it
to scoop out my cottage cheese. lol - If that weren't enough, I've also been needin another pair of blue jeans and found
a pair of Lucky's at the same thrift shop! I haven't tried them on yet,... they're in the
washin machine. But I'm so excited! I love already- broken- in blue jeans... and the
fact that they're Luckys... Thank You Lord!! They're ones I really like too- non stretch,
and not so low that you show all your business when you sit down. lol wooHoo!
Some of you gals appreciate what I'm talkin about. To find "modest"
jeans now adays is hard!

I was gonna stick to the five, but I thought of just one more, I had to add:
Today, I enjoyed thee best; I'm talkin the sweetest,
juiciest, most beautiful orange I have ever... in my life.... tasted. ---
Thank you Lord for creating such a magnificent
morsel, and giving it to me to eat.
It was delicious.

Thank you Lord for all these things. Thank you for my wonderful Myguy and
sweet sons and family
and friends and so much more.
Your goodness overwhelms me!

Hebrews 13:15-16 "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-- the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

I'm so glad you have a woodstove and found some Lucky's. I love thirft stores. I love broken in jeans. My sister has been missing her jeans for a couple of months and she found them (2 new pairs) they had fallen behind the couch after she had folded her laundry. So funny.
