My Very First Scrapbook..... From The 70's!

Greetings and Holykisses Yall!

I hope you've had a beautiful Sabbath today! The SON was truly shining all day here; in every way. My heart's so full.

When I got back from church this evening, I started digging in my craft room for some books I'd gathered to scrapbook. I haven't scrapbooked in a while now, but today we got our pictures back of our beloved Abe. I had so many on this computer and knew I wanted to either scrapbook them or put them in an album. So tonight, I started searching to see what I already had. I found several old journals and started thumbing through and came across one I call "Paraphernalia." Inside, I found a treasure trove of memories ... and things I'd basically forgotten. Things I'd written about my Angel Mother,... word pools, favorite scriptures, .... ideas, hopes and dreams! As I thumbed through these journals, I was so grateful that I'd kept them, because when I journal I bare my soul. Re-reading them, helps me see what God's brought me through... and also helps me see how much more I need and want to "grow" in HIM. (Thankyou Jesus... I love you Lord!!!)

The picture above is of my first scrapbook... ever! My Angel Mother had kept it in her cedar chest and I'm so glad she saved it. It means so much to me... especially tonight after reading my other journals. The rocky road of my spiritual journey, began with seeds that were once planted, long ago. The word says, "Train up a child in the way He should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

I wish I knew how old I was when I made this. I remember my catechism teacher and I want to say, I must have been around 7 years old. It would have been around 1971? I remember walking to my teacher's house with my neighbor Susie, unless it was too snowy and cold. Are you ready to see the seeds that were planted in me?
This is the first page. I think the teacher wrote it but I obviously told her what to write. "My aunt is havin a baby, the war stopped and the prisoners are coming home!" If you're like me, you're askin "what war?"
It's VERY FUN to receive first holy communin. (Those of you who read me, already know my spelling hasn't improved all that much.) -- And I still love Holy Communion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this one. The priest baptizing a baby. -- and (Yes, I was Catholic.)
Every time I look at this picture I see my Priest from back then.... Father Geditz. I loved him,
and can still hear him singing "I've got that joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart song while a group of older teenagers played guitars. Sweet memories! -- I sometimes wonder if he's still alive? I remember telling him my sins in the confessional and when I couldn't think of anything, I think I made stuff up. :(
I must have copied the words here... because that was NOT my handwriting.
I'm guessing I drew this from looking at a picture. See the seeds? ;) Planted in fertile soil:
The soil of a child's heart.
Check out the big letters. Ya reckon I was told that ALOT?
Jeasus is very speachal. (Makes my heart pound :)
A stick Jesus crucified on the cross. Drawn through thee eyes of a little girl.

There's more that I didn't scan but..... if you only knew where I was from then.... til after I got married... you'd understand what I'm feeling tonight. Many of you know, that at one point in my life I said I didn't even believe anymore. But the Word says, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."

I was looking at the prayers I had memorized above. I remember when I learned the Lords prayer, I'd say: Lead us SNOTS into temptation, but deliver us from evil. I'm not kidding. I was quite abit older when I discovered I was saying it wrong! The rest of the prayers, .... I think I still know them. When someone starts reciting them... they come back to me. This next week, I'm gonna try to look up my catechism teacher, Mrs. Poitra and thank her for giving to the Lord. She made a difference in my life... and I'm so thankful.

It's late, and Jeremiah 14 is waiting.
To GOD be the glory!

Lea, I kid you not, I was raised Catholic. And I still love to hear the rosary being prayed at a wake. Something in my heart.

It has been two full years since I started facilitating our Community bible study; and the neat thing, my catechism teacher has moved to my town now, and she's in my class. HOW COOL IS THAT???!!!

Thank You Jesus for Redemption and Salvation. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH LORD JESUS, and Sis Lea.
