Blessings

Greetings and Holykisses Yall,

It's Thursday, and as usual, I'm joining Sonya at Truth 4 The Journey for Thankful Thursday.
Click the button below to participate or read other thankful hearts.

Today, I share my 5 random blessings....

1. I'm thankful for the message we heard in church this past Sunday on following God.
We were asked questions such as: "Do you follow Him?"
"Why do you follow Him?"
"What will you follow Him through?"
As I asked myself these tough questions. I wanted to say I follow Him always, but
that's not always true. My tendency is to liking things my own way.
I was reminded once again that we have to take up our cross and follow Him every single day.
Every day is a new day, filled with new challenges, new temptations, and new trials and
circumstances. I asked myself the question, "How far am i willing to follow Him?"
Would i follow Him even if it meant following Him to the valley of the shadow of death?
Thank you Lord for your sacrifice for me.
My desire is to follow YOU wherever you lead me in and through this life.

2. I'm thankful God's helping me read through His word. This week, I finished reading
the book of Jeremiah, and this morning, finished Lamentations. What I learned most of
all from reading Jeremiah is that when I ask God to show me what He wants me to do; when
He tells me, .... I need to follow Him, and trust Him and obey Him no matter what.
Especially if I don't understand it, or it makes no sense to me! In Jeremiah I read
about the people who asked for His direction and leading and they promised they'd be
obedient and do whatever He said. But when His answer wasn't what they wanted,
they went their own way.
Thank you Lord for teaching me this lesson through Jeremiah.

3. I'm thankful for a surprise I found on my walk yesterday. It was dusk and
in the distance I saw what looked like a big black lab in our pasture. The closer I got, I
discovered, it wasn't a dog at all but a new baby calf! I could hardly believe
my eyes! We didn't even realize the cow that had it was close to calving!
Thanks Lord for growing our herd.

4. I'm thankful for the spring like weather we've had the past couple days.
I've been spending alot more time outdoors and yesterday I didn't even need
a coat! The warmer air did wonders to perk my spirit and put an extra
spring in my step!
Thanks God!

5. I'm thankful for light! Last night, during the thunderstorms ; our power went out.
I'd already had a couple candles lit, just in case. A loud crack of thunder boomed
and next thing I knew we were in darkness. I got up and rounded up a few more candles.
Soon, they were flickering all over the house. As I looked across the room, I realized how
beautiful the light was ... in the darkness. In and through the storm, God showed me "the light."
As storms of life come upon me in the future, I hope I'll look back on this night.... and
Seek His light.

Thank you Lord.
For all these things, and so much more.
You reign.

A great message in your "Thankful Thursday". We should all follow God's leading wherever it takes us.
Sometimes it's not easy, but in the end it will be worth it all.

I know you commented on my blog yesterday, but in the change over of email addresses I deleted it thinking I would see it in the Comment Moderation. There were several. I appreciate all the prayers for my cousin. I haven't heard from him lately. Thanks also for putting his button on your blog. He can use all the prayers he can get.

Would you say a prayer for me. I am getting weary with this change over. There are so many places I have to go and change my email address. I pray that in the end things will be better. We are also changing from cable to satellite tomorrow.
Love you, and congratulations on the newest member of your family.

What a blessing to read your Thankful Thursday post today! Especially about following God no matter where He leads, no matter what He allows into our lives. It fits right in with the next post I'm working on :-) I love it when God does that!

Blessings to you sweet friend,
Debbie

ALoha Lea, Getting ready to go to church here this morning and went to your blog for a little music, and re-read this post :-) The image of Gods light flickering and lighting our way through the storm, is a very powerful one, adn I will hold it close in the coming days. Thank you. Now on to tune up my ukulele, and go to church, hear the word, adn sing praises to our king. Today we are singing an old bill and gloria gaither song "there is something about that name" in hawaiian of course.

Blessed sunday to you my sister in Christ

Aloha Paula
