It's Time

Greetings and Holykisses,

Morning came earlier for me than usual. I woke to check on our beloved Abraham. Abe's my dear, and faithful, little, corgi- boy. When I raised puppies, he was the "dad" of them all. Appropriately named too, as he fathered in his old age; having many descendants.

Lately; he's been having trouble getting up the steps. He's not only old, but overweight, and arthritic. Last night, I let him inside and just as he was scrambling up the step that goes from the craft room into the living room; he fell on it.* I could tell he was hurt but he's not one to arf,... and will suffer in silence. He walked into the kitchen and then started bleeding quite abit on the floor. :( I got it stopped for the most part, but he had to spend the night in my craft room on the tile. I made him a little bed, and had to carry him in and out to go potty. --So, I've been up early this morning... checking on him and hangin out with my lil buddy. Our poor little Abe; I'm pretty sure he'll be okay but we probably need to do something about all the steps around here. Maybe put something up against them to make it easier and safer for him.

Instead of going back to bed, I read in Proverbs awhile and then started the Purpose of Christmas dvd from the Purpose Driven Connection magazine. It was nice to be reminded of our focus of Christmas Time. The scriptures shared went well beyond the Christmas story in Luke and brought clarity to the purpose of why God sent His Son. One thought really caught my attention that I don't very often think about. And that's the fact that every time we say the date..., or write the date... we are recognizing Jesus in history A.D.-B.C.

How many times in a day, ... do I think of the date without ever reflecting what it truly defines: the birth of Jesus Christ. I check the calendar often. I notice the date on the guide of the television, and record the date every time I make a deposit, or write a check, or debit. Doing those things, I can honestly say I don't often think about Jesus' birthday. Yet it's because of Him, that we record and measure all time.

Speaking of time, yikes it's time to get ready for church!
Have a great sabbath!

Good Morning Lea ..Abe is to you as my Maggie is to me. She is my little angel.

Maggie has severe arthritis and is 13 years of age. They now have Glucoasamine shots for animals it's called Canine Adequine. Our vet started her off ..by giving her 3 or 4 shots in 1 month of it ..which at first was a bit expensive ..but you have to get it in their blood stream. Then after that now it's once a month ..and he showed us how to give the shot and we do it ourselves now ( very easy) It has made a tremendous difference in her ability to walk without limping ..she can climb stairs but I have taught her not to come up them anymore and she seems o.k. with it. I just blocked the stairs for about 2 weeks ..so she couldn't get up and she figured it out and doesn't come up anymore. The other thing if you have slippery floors ..in the Dr.s Foster and Smith mag for dogs ..they have a spray for the bottom of their feet that helps them not to slip.

I know when our animals get elderly ..we have to help them as much as we can and make those last years more comfy for them.

You sound like you are doing that so well for him.

You are so right about the date..I never thought of it that way ..I don't think I'll look at the date the same way again.

Hugs and Blessings ..Kindred Sister ..

I've just caught up with your posting. I missed yesterday's somehow. With my oldest daughter and my two grandchildren here it's hard to do anything. Usually everything is topsy turvey. My daughter comes in and practically takes over (doesn't bother me a bit). She always makes plans to do things with the grandchildren and shopping. I had just cleaned out my refrigerator and now it is packed full again. She's a sweetheart.

So sorry about your dog. Hope he's feeling better.

Loved all the things you bought. You just really enjoy life and that's a good thing.

Hope the rest of your day is good and restful.
Blessings,

Hey there sweet friend. Feel bad for poor Abe. Hope he's on the mend, soon.

Thanks for sharing how you spent those early morning hours. Such a good way to place your focus on Christ heading into the CHRISTmas season. Praying to stay more mindful of that myself.

Hope you and yours had a wonderful and special Thanksgiving.

Blessings,
Tracy

I hope your buddy is ok, I know how they tend to become apart of the family and you worry about them just like the kids. I have a old buddy too. I may have to steal a couple of your buttons as I have been looking for some and I love yours. Enjoy your Sunday! Hugs!
