Thankful

Greetings and Holykisses,

Good morning dear friends inside my computer!!
Have you been pumpkin picking yet? So far, I've brought two, tiny- lil punkins home with me, and both have been given their new names. Bet you didn't know I name punkins after my bloggy friends? I've disclosed their identities to their namesakes and every time I walk thru the kitchen door I say, "Hello ___, hello ____!" You know what? Life can be so much fun and a merry heart really is good medicine!

Today marks October 15th, and soon it will be Halloween. I'm just not into Halloween much at all. The whole idea of "harvest" is what appeals to me. The colors of autumn, the smell of pumpkin bread, and sweet tartness of apple cider... go well with my soul. Did you happen to notice how hard it is to blend a pink breadbox into autumn decor? heeheehaahaahoohoo. Some of you are probably a little skeptical of my color choice to paint my vintage breadbox. Just you wait til Christmas and see how much harder it is to mix in with the red/green theme. It may as well have white polka dots. Oh hey... I kinda like that!??....

So it's thankful Thursday! Do yall have your praise on?
We're supposed to share 5 random blessings. But this week, I had to bump it to seven.

Today's random 7 blessings

1. I'm thankful for my encouragers! My dear friends who lift and edify! They build me up,
and encourage me to live higher and better for our King Jesus. Thank you Father for
bringing encouragement through Godly friendships.
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11

2. This week, I was sitting in bed reading a book and the weirdest thing happened.
All of a sudden this *thing* dropped right in front of my face... nearly
eyeball to eyeball. It was a spider on a strand of web. It looked like it dropped
out of the vent straight above me. Freaked me smooth out! I used my book
to hit it and then scooped it up and dropped it in the toilet. I'm not sure.. but it looked like a brown recluse. I'm so thankful the lil rascal didn't bite me.

3. I'm thankful for the blessings I've experienced through the love revolution.
Being mindful each and every day to put love into action has actually
been alot of fun! It feels good to give! Not only in "things" but smiles, and encouragement,
compliments; the many ways we can share God's love.

4. I'm thankful for the blessings sent to me this week in the mail. A beautiful hand-written
letter from a wonderful friend, and a beautiful card and hand written letter from another friend.
A pad of paper sent by another with the verse:
"Thou hast put gladness in my heart." Psalm 4:7

These were acts of kindnesses that blessed me, and made my days very, very special! I'm so thankful!
My heart is so glad!

5. I'm thankful to have met one of my bloggy friends over the phone this week!
I enjoyed our chat so much. It's funny... when you read someone's blog over
time, you really get to know that person. When we talked,
there was really no awkwardness,... and hardly a pause other than maybe
trying to catch our breath? I'm thankful the Lord crossed our paths
to meet in this way!

6. I'm thankful my new book "Becoming More Than A Good Bible Study Girl," came
yesterday and I'm already caught up. I've learned
how important it is to stay in a good bible study.
"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

7. I'm thankful how God revealed more of Himself to me this week. Did you see my word filled Wednesday scripture picture with the pink breadbox and verse: "I am the bread of life?"
It came to me totally from above. Honestly, I hadn't read the verses about the bread of life in weeks.
That morning, I wrote a quick comment to someone telling them I was running out the door to go with my church group.
We were serving lunch that day at the college. At thee end of my comment, I wrote the word: "joyfully." When I got to the church, we all held hands in a circle and prayed before we headed
out. The pastors' last word ending the prayer was "joyfully." No coincidence. When we got there, I talked to a woman who started sharing her "DAILY BREAD" with me. She actually used those words. My spirit quickened, and knowing God was trying to get my attention, I asked her to repeat what she'd just said to make sure I was getting it all. Yall, I think she said the bread of life three different times! It was again repeated to me one more time after that through someone else. God's in our details. He is so about our everyday, making it extraordinary if only we listen and hear Him. Lastly, my #7 would not be complete if I did not give thanks for my friend Charlene who spoke an affirmation to me. God used her to speak a truth into my being. Thanks Char for allowing God to use you in such a mighty way. More importantly thank you ABBA FATHER for loving us so much! We give you all the praise and glory!

YOU ARE
the bread
of
my
life.

That was a good Thankful Thursday.
But I'm wondering whre everyone is.
This is your first comment and no one has commented on mine. Wonder what's going on. Oh, well, the people that need to read our thank you's will I'm sure. It's just strange that we both wrote early in the day and no one has visited.

I'm glad your having such a blessed day with the Lord.

Next week is fishing week for my husband's brothers at the east coast in NC. Some will go Saturday to Saturday and some Sunday to Sunday. There's always a large group. We're not going until Wednesday and will be staying at the same house again this year with my daughter's, my grandchildren, son-in-law and our niece and her twin son. Please pray for them. They are still having a hard time with the loss of the other twin which was a year ago in August.

If my son-in-law brings his laptop I may post sometime during the week. We will be back the following Sunday. We didn't get to go to the mountains because it has been raining all week.
Have a blessed week,
Luv u,
AliceE.

Girl, your lil' story about the brown spider just gave me goosebumps. Thanks a lot! I remember a spider fell flat on my face but it was a Daddy Longlegs, still traumatizing though o_O

Great post Lea. I tried to visit everyone who participated but I ran out of time. Thank you so much for the wonderful comments on my blog and for your wonderful list. I don't think that was a coincidence either. I love your blog. It is so uplifting.

Oh...wow..dontcha just love when God sends us that special person in the nick of time to whisper..or in this case..FB :) us a little encouragement that we know in our heart had to come directly from Him?! He never, ever ceases to amaze me! Thanks for reminding me to slow down & pay attention to the details..just like your word "joyfully" and "DAILY BREAD"..He's there amidst it ALL!

My #1 Thankful Thursday came in the form of some serious blood test coming back NEGATIVE!!! Those three weeks taught me to put my trust and faith in HIM! Praise you Father and thank you bloggy friend for lifting me in your prayers these last couple of weeks!

HELLO PUNKIN!

Today...I took a matchlighter thing to a spider on our carpet...cuz it was faster than grabbin' a shoe! Singed his little backside before he could bite mine...which is what one did a year ago :)

What.

That is SO funny about the "cowless" word verification :)!! Tonight I have villag. It takes a villag. I heard.
I'm home alone if you are here...call.
