Tagged ...and Some Mississippi Mud

Greetings and Holykisses,

I dined in Zephaniah this morning. ~
Zephaniah 3:17 " The LORD your GOD is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

Does it not feel grrrreat to know God delights in us? He quiets us with love????????
Sings over us???? If that doesn't put an extra spring in our step today, ___ ____!

Last night, we had a ladies meeting at church discussing Operation Christmas child. The table was already full of items to be packed in the many shoeboxes. I can't believe it's that time of year already!!! It's exciting! Makes me want to put up our CHRISTmas tree!

Funny thing... after I got home, my red- flannel, reindeer, pajama bottoms and top were just calllllling me! I was sooo ready to get comfy!! As I tossed my jeans on my dresser, I noticed something..... : they still had all their sweet lil tags on the back! I'd just bought them yesterday and yep, wore em to my meeting. Funny: Not one person said anything even remotely like, "Hey Lea... whatchya got hanging back there?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :)
I was wearin my brown Ariat vest .... maybe?... it was long enough and covered the tags?? -- but I don't really think so. lololol For the record, I didn't leave, "my SIZE! and Signature by Levi Strauss & Co, Misses or bootcut " on as some kind of new fashion statement! Know what I'm sayin? --I guess sometimes ya just gotta laugh!??? (Look out Minnie Pearl!!) Oh well....Looking on the bright side, I have yet one more thing I get to add to my long list of embarrassing moments!

At our meeting, we received the newest missions magazine. This morning I started reading it, and one article talks about our mission fields being in our everyday. Every person that's in your path, and that you come in contact with... is indeed your mission field. I think sometimes I forget that. We hear about the Lottie Moon this, and Dixie ? that, and tend to forget that every person has their very own mission field within their very own neighborhood.

When you pray about "your" mission field, ... do faces begin to come to your mind? Can you visualize things God wants you to do,... and hear words that need to be spoken? 4 things were added to my list of things to do today because of it, and it's still morning! Who knows, what the rest of the day will bring along? Who will you see today?

Real quick, I want to share our Mississippi Mud Bars recipe. I made these a couple days ago, and they go really fast around here! They are technically peanut butter bars and I think the recipe came from my Sisterbear. Anyways, hope you like them as much as we do!

Mississippi Mud Bars

1 cup peanut butter, 2 cups packed brown sugar
2/3 cup butter, 3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup flour, dash salt
Mix well and bake at 350 degrees til toothpick inserted
in center comes out clean. I think it takes about 30 minutes
and I always just touch the center of it and if it feels done it is! lol

Let it cool a little bit, and then in a microwave safe bowl put
1/2- 3/4 cup chocolate chips and a teaspoon or so of shortening.
Microwave til melted. I've burnt this frosting before... make sure there is
NOT a drop of water in the bowl and stir often until it's melted.
Then frost bars. Let cool a little and in another bowl,
add a cup or so of pwd sugar and a little water til it's a runny icing.
Drizzle all over the top.
Enjoy!
Your family will think you're a rock star if you make these.
Guaranteed!!! Providing of course, no one's allergic
to nuts! If that's the case, don't make em!

Have an awesome day, out on your mission field!

"Every person that's in your path, and that you come in contact with... is indeed your mission field." Yes! And I forget that waaaaay to often!! I needed to be reminded of that today as I wallowed (just a tad bit) in self pity this morning :( I need to put my focus elsewhere and take it off of me!!! Thanks for the very timely reminder :-)

God bless you sweet sister,
Debbie

Sure wish I was your neighbor...we'd have a blast! Are you somewhat close to Hot Springs...my mama is there, would love to hug your neck. Thought of Minnie when you mentioned the tag! 9too funny)Great post...love Op Christmas child, do this every yr! Also grew up talking about Lottie and felt even then that every where I go is my chance to share if even just "planting a seed".
This is a fav verse of mine too...thanks for the reminder...needed it tonight.

Wonderful post!

And so true, it is the people we meet every day that are our mission field. Helps us to know that God puts those people in our path, so then what seems like 'interruptions' with out plans, and 'one more thing added' are really God's plan for us.
It is up to us what we do with those situations.

Had to skip right over the Mississippi Mud recipe lest i be temped!

blessings

have a great weekend

Oh Lea how funny maybe no one noticed. That's like the leaving the pantyhose in the leg of the pants! I loved your comments about the mission field. I am on the mission field at home here and anytime I hear someone get the revelation that you got I am totally Blessed. So much concern is made for missions everywhere around the world. It is sad when there is sooooo much need right here. One of our ministries is giving backpacks of food to 20 children at the elementary near my home. There are 200 children in the school on free lunch program. It saddens me that our ministry is only able to help the 20. Oh opp's I got on a soapbox. I am sorry. I appreciated your post anyway and well the chocolate got me too! Have a Blessed Sunday,
Sherry
