The Sabbath and Love

Greetings and Holykisses!

Have you ever awakened with someone on your mind whom you've never even met? That's what happened to me in the wee hours this morning. As I lay there thinking of the battle that I know this woman's been fighting, I felt it in my heart to just get up and pray. Carrying my bible to the living room, I sat on the floor with the word of God opened, and a pumpkin spice candle flickering away in the darkness.

Sitting there in the quiet, I couldn't help but wonder:
What kind of a night had she been putting in?
Could actually feel tensions leave her body and a refreshing to her soul as I prayed?
Did she sense powers of darkness fleeing?
May the peace of God that no one understands come to her, and rest on her throughout the rest of this glorious day.
If you think of her in the days to come, would you pray for her as well? We'll call her "Beloved."

Today is the sabbath, and I'm grateful the Lord woke me early, while the world around me, hadn't yet stirred. I'm thankful to have a church I "get" to go to and worship freely. So many in the world don't. I'm thankful to have a Pastor who preaches from the word of God, and I'm thankful for fellowship with other people of like minded faith.

I found the photo above in an antique store over the summer. The year was 1927. Lorena and Ruth, is written in very shaky handwriting across the back. Our God was the same God of Ruth and Lorena's day as He is in ours. I know the times are very different, but GOD is still the same. We'll probably never know, but this picture makes me think these two ladies really knew and loved Him. Did they get to church early and wait for those doors to open? Maybe. Were they anxious - as was I today, to hear what our God would speak to their hearts? Maybe. I wonder if He sometimes woke them while it was still dark and they got up and lit a candle as well to read their bible and pray? I wonder. -- I can't tell you how many countless times I've been drawn to this simple photo. In Colossians 3:15, the word says: "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body, you were called to peace. And be thankful." Members of one body.--- If Ruth and Lorena knew our Lord, then they are our sisters. I hope one day, I'll meet them in heaven and be able to tell them how God used their picture to inspire me and draw me closer to Him. I'm thankful!

Tomorrow is October 12, which marks the first day of the Love Revolution week. People all over the world will be joining together, through the Joyce Meyer Ministry to put love in action. You can find out more about it on her website, but what it basically is, is meeting the needs of others when they need it and without excuse. Spreading God's love and getting out there and making a difference in the life of another by ~being a blessing~

I have a special notebook set aside to journal my week of the Love Revolution.
Already things have been coming to heart and mind.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."
– Hebrews 10:24 (NIV)

Have a wonderful night!

OOHHH Ohhh Maybe you were praying for me???!!! After returning to my home on Kauai ALONE (my hubby came over to Kauai on Sept 2, we got to spend a blissful 3 whole weeks together on Kauai, then I flew to our other home in Bellingham, where we got to spend 3 weeks together, so a total of 6 blissful weeks together). Then yesterday I flew back to our BNB on Kauai ALONE! Woke up in the middle of the night FREAKED OUT. Oh my Lord, what am I doing here alone in the middle of the pacific ocean, without my beloved husband and dogs. As I was crying out to the Lord, the Holy spirit came along side of me, got me up out of bed, where I came downstairs, turned on some worship music, and for several hours opened up and allow the holy spirit to minister to me and calm my spirit. the Lord quickened my heart to tell me that he is with me, and he will NEVER forsake me, and in his name there is POWER. So I CALLED On Jesus name to calm me down. My heart is fuller, I feel safer, and am CERTAIN that the Lord is with me. Such a comfort and calm he so graciously poured out to me this day. Thank you Jesus for your faithful praying children, and thank you Leah for following the Lords lead. even if you were not praying for me , I had to share this with you. Thank you Lord Jesus for the prayers of your faithful, and reminding us that there is power in your name. :-)
With fond aloha Paula
P.S.
I Just read this book by a christian author, and you keep coming to my mind while I was reading this book. I contacted the author to get a copy and I would like to send it to you. If you are comfortable could you send me an email with you P.O. Box? You will be blessed by this book, and it is based in scripture, so how could you go wrong? Curious? In Christ love, Paula
