"Follow Me"

Greetings and holykisses,

Hope yall have had a wonderful sabbath!
I'm still meditating tonight on Paul's prayer to the Ephesians:

"For this reason, I kneel before the Father, 'from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen" Ephesians 3:14-21


See the words I highlited? They leaped off the page to me tonight.

Then earlier at church this morning, we had a guest speaker. He preached out of Matthew 9:9. Jesus was passing by Matthew and simply said,
"Follow me."
And Matthew-- got up and followed him!
Two little words that need to be daily exercise for life. Just follow Him. No if's, no and's, no but's.

I wonder how many times in just one day, have I argued with God over even the little things He's asked me to do? How many times have I questioned Him, or tuned Him out coz I was uncomfortable doing what He asked? How many times when "I" didn't understand His "why" ... did I not "follow Him?" I can think of a few in a hurry.

Jesus said,
"Follow me."

You know what....? In today's world, we "follow" on twitter, ...we follow on Facebook,... we "follow" as fans, and follow one another's blogs. I seem to follow here, there and everywhere! But more than anything I want to truly follow the ONE who died for me. The ONE who's love is wide, long, high and deep. The One who gives eternal life.

Wow. Lea. If I'd read this before church tonight, I might've stayed home since that was some good preachin' right there!! ;] Just kidding, nothing would keep me from going to my Father's house, but that sure was good. I really needed to read that. Thanks my dear friend.
p.s. I am drooling over that scene up there in your header. You know how crazy about fall I am. I miss it here. No colored leaves to collect and appreciate, hardly a crisp breeze...ahhh. I miss it!

I follow blogs, and friends on facebook but my main walk is with God. I like to think if we follow others, many will follow us. Good post!

This is the scripture I pray over my boys every night. It is powerful and for me, very intimate.
